TBC Arena - Was Hunter as bad as is believed?

The meme was that it was terrible, because it couldnt hump a pillar well.

Is that fact or fiction, because I really dont remember.

EDIT: Ah shoot, wrong forum…

Hunter is good if you like 45 minute arena games where all you do is Drain the healers mana.

I really dont. :frowning:

That was hunter in a nutshell.

Viper sting… Long boring games.

Rock the meta with a Beastmastery/Survival ‘melee hunter’ spec (in 2s).
Scorpid pet, Viper Sting, and +300 Strength Rapid Strike crits!

i seem to remember some pretty good pvp hunters back in the day…

Hunter was relatively weak in 2s because pillar humping eliminated pretty much all of its kill pressure.

It does well in 3s on a drain team.

It is acceptable as a supplementary dps in 5s, once you already have your Warrior.

I don’t remember hunters being much of a problem in arena, but boy were they monsters in BG’s.

I never got to play tbc, do hunters have to weave in auto shots like in classic?

Yes, but also no. From what I’ve seen and tested, the auto shot timer doesn’t stop once you cast aimed shot or steady shot. Instead it ‘pauses’. You’ll passively get in auto shots without consciously trying. I could be wrong, though. I’m not a hunter expert.

Hunter in TBC anything was far from bad.

So like it will pause and shoot directly after an ability?

Hunter + priest or Druid is not ‘bad’, they have great synergy with their cc, mana drain, and respectable damage/survivability.

Just think it’s a bit weaker than the Druid + lock/rogue/warrior variants, which are all very common.

Probably fair very well against double dps comps but like others have already said expect long games vs healer/dps match ups
