Tbc 2H enh shaman

Hi,
I like the concept of a 2H axe/mace wielding enh shaman, and since i didnt get to play one in classic was wondering if its still a thing in tbc? Im mainly looking to have some fun in bgs and arena skirmishes with him. Was wondering if ppl can share their thoughts on it. ty

Generally speaking, no.
Duel Wield in TBC is really good because of double-windfury and higher attack speed for more procs, which gives more mana regen and more lightning orb attacks etc…

It’s still potentially viable, but there’s not really any good 2h options for us that I can remember, and our hand of ragnaros (if you even have it) will be replaced by a green somewhere in hellfire peninsula by the time you’re 61-62.

Additionally, because windfury is scaled from weapon damage, a 2h windfury proc (esp if it crits) will be the death of you, it’s bad enough that with the dw talents and the threat reduction that comes with it, you still have to wait 10-15 seconds to attack and still pull agro. if you go 2h and get a crit proc on pull or even 20 seconds in, you’re toast.

We still use strength in TBC so there is plenty of 2 handed maces and axes to pick from. In PVP it still has its place.

Its perfectly fine to use a 2hder. I’m sure somebody has theory crafted the idea to a refined T. Have fun and enjoy the big numbers with a far more refined version of Vanilla Enhancement.

DW will probably beat you out though do to it being far better sustained while 2h is pure burst via massive WFs. Don’t worry about procs though as any “procs” you have as a TBC Enh Shaman outside of Windfury itself can be boiled down to:

A:
“Did you crit a melee attack?” “Yes.” “Cool heres some buffs that reduce the mana cost of your shocks, increase your attack speed, and make you hit harder.”

B:
“Did you crit with a spell?” “Yes.” “Cool here is a buff that gives you a 9% increase chance to crit with melee for your other buffs.”

Beavis - WoW PvP - S4 Enhancement Shaman Windfury Crits (Level 70)

You will have all the answers you’re seeking after you see it.

ya running around with zerking - popping trinkets and blowing up low resilience targets isn’t limited to 2h

This sums up the best of enhance 2H PVP until everyone went DW.

Get the best gear possible and only attack very undergeared players.

I mean Thrall still gets to use 2Hs in retail but not us I guess.
I hope that when TBC comes out the difference is in an acceptable range and I still get to play with 2Hs as well.

I used to swap a 2h in from time to time in 5s. Was playing Warrior (stunherald), rogue(mace spec), me (stun herald) with wf totem it must have been absolute cancer to play against. Errrrbody gettin stunned today bois.

Trall is a Warrior now.
When he is following other players his ‘replacement’ is called Frostwolf Warrior.

People will soon realize the cancer that is mace stun. LOL was so fun. Better get that weapon chain.

Sadness. But thank you.

Check out spell power enhance for tbc. It runs water shield and dual wield flame tongue and does some serious work once geared.

It’s a different approach to the class but has been proven over the years of private realms to be just as viable. There are some really good pvp videos, one where a spell power enhance beats a resto druid 1v1 even outlasting their mana.

All in all, tbc is a good time for shaman with enh and ele being A/S tier due to the nature of totems (you will always find a raid spot unless there are too many shaman) and resto is the best healer pve and pvp wise.

Please be cautious as there is so much horrid, garbage advice here from the fun police. These degenerates will have you doing what THEY want for some reason instead of what you want inside of a video game that you are playing, absolutely insane right? I am a shaman on arugal pretty decked out now regularly raiding with Gorehowl and buffing the shiit out of my melee group while providing very competitive dmg, the only thing that prevents you from being in the very highest echelon of damage is that you dont have any threat dumps so you need to watch the threat meter and make sure your tank has plenty. Top dps classes usually provide way less buffs and dont have bloodlust so its a very small price to pay.

The other bit of advice you will find valuable is the primary difference in stat focus, as dual weild you want more attack power but with a 2h weap you want to maximise crit chance as much as possible. The reason is the way enhancement is built, you need a crit to not only get your damage spiralling out of control with the haste buffs and mana reduc on shocks but also to proc the 10% attack power boost for you and your melee group which you should always be in as enhancement. Its in the name. If your first hit and the stormstrike and or none of the windfury procs from either all fail to crit you are waiting for a while to get a chance to crit again thats 3 seconds or so your pals go without the buff too. Goofballs still ask me why I hit the rats nearby in kara as the tank is pulling, well its to get the buffs rolling for me and the others. With the druid in my group and raid buffs im around 35% crit, so something will crit unless very unlucky.

Have fun! Buff those silly rogues, give em windfury and chuckle as you still out dps them but at the end of the day its a team game and good rogues are exposing armor too, what goes around comes around. Spec means very little, just know what you are doing with your spec.
