Taxes on wow token?

So I got a battle net balance card, and now to buy a wow token, I have to pay taxes on that? C’mon blizzard, do you really need that extra $1.20?

It’s not blizzard it’s whatever state you are in. Florida doesn’t pay the tax but New Yorkers like me do

Thats on your state, not blizzard.

Edit: Wait Drago how did your post move all of the sudden to above mine, what is this trickery

News flash, Blizzard doesn’t decide what states and federal law requires to be taxed. Many states decided to tax online sales, apparently you are in one of them.

The SCOTUS ruling of Wayfair vs South Dakota is to blame. Blizzard is complying is all. If you don’t want to be taxed contact your state.

Welcome to the forums where everything is too hot, too cold, and too medium, and no one has any clue as to how anything works

That’s a State sales tax, not something Blizzard simply added in. And yes, some States have passed laws requiring sales tax on all internet and digital purchases.

You just happen to live in one of those States.

I’m glad someone paid attention to that!

It’s your state op. I have to pay sales tax too, I don’t care for it much because around here you either order online or drive an hour or two for something. I shop locally but due to online sales the states lose a lot of money and I like my nice roads and clean water, so I will pay the tax

You must have a limited understanding of state and federal tax codes… this has NOTHING to do with Blizzard. I am amazed that even has to be stated.

Are you really amazed? I mean cmon this is GD

For clarity, when a vendor collects taxes, they don’t get to keep them.

They have to forward that money to the government entity forcing them to collect them.

We used to pay taxes of online purchase on the honor system. We were required to note them on our state income taxes and cough it up. We… kinda didn’t do that. So they decided to make the companies collect them.

Yeah Blizz has no control over taxes. LOL

I don’t remember this at all… Do you have any documentation on this?

…blizz doesn’t get that $1.20 Uncle sam does. Do you think sales tax goes to the stores you buy at?

Like others have said, it doesn’t go to Blizz.

Do you blame Blizzard when your gas price goes up too? Good lord.

No, Blizz doesn’t keep that, your state does. So it’s your state that needs it :stuck_out_tongue:

Going by average intelligence, wouldn’t at all be suprising :stuck_out_tongue:
