Hey all!
I’ve been brewing an idea for a horde character to roleplay and it had something to do with an oxen variation of the Tauren race more influenced by Pandaria culture. Except someone kindly pointed out the Yaungol were a thing, oops lol.
I’m not sure how to go about to see other types of Tauren in existence other than the typical ones and the Highmountain graced with their own rack of antlers. Though, is it possible?
Sure there are.
You have the established breeds of Tauren from the base bull model we have as playable. This come in long horn and short horn varieties. Or horns also curve.
Then you have the Taunka from Northrend. They are kind of Oxen type. Or maybe they are more Bison types like you’d see in Yellowstone Park. I could be getting my cleft hoofed mammals mixed up.
The Pandara breed that I believe are actually our ancestor and true origins of the Tauren species. They have not evolved much if at all since the Sundering.
Then you have the Moose variety that we get with the Highmountain. With their Antlers.
Oxen have a particular horn style don’t they? I think that style is represented in normal tauren-horn customization. You could still pursue your idea and simply choose this horn style. I think it also helps that while the males of the different sub-species appear to be different, the females never seemed to have changed. So you could easily roll a female and call her a Yaungol if you’d like.

Thank you for the informative reply! Of course it helps the moo customization allows for such, but also the lovely imagination too. I’ll keep that in mind when I work on them
