Please @blizzard!
When can we finally have Baine’s Feathered Headdress for Tauren’s?
Can you bring it to the trading post? The current head gear that came with the Tauren heritage armor is very disappointing and random looking…
Or at least let tauren and highmountain tauren share tmogs. the heardress on highmountain is far better.
I think the heritage headdress ( I am wearing), is fairly elaborate. Baine’s is bigger because he leads the tauren. Better watch out blizz doesn’t say " OK fine, but you need to Herd the Tauren!"
baine’s headdress is big and poofy to help mask the fact that tauren heads extend out of their chest and do not sit on their head, it helps hide it pretty well
Ok, having had a good look at the heritage headdress as it looks now, I take it all back. They dumbed it down and it looks crappy now, maybe it offended somebody or something, but it looks like shizzle now.
I mean, that is the issue with choosing a racial theme that is directly connected to 1 small demographic, especially since that demographic has historically been mistreated and stereotyped.
well its a thought maybe why, there could be another reason, but I am speculating.
I still forget they are the Commanders and I cant even remember what the Cleveland baseball team is now.
I guess it is for the best.
They didnt remove head dresses, they just didn’t lean into them like the OP is requesting.
The Lunar festival coincides with the Chinese New Year…China is not a small demographic of people. Its the second most populated country in the world and a superpower.
I’m honestly surprised blizzard didn’t try to completely erase the tauren from existence given how sensitive a vocal minority are and how pandering blizzard is lol
I would really appreciate Baine’s Chieftan Headdress. The one we have now with the Heritage armor isn’t made of feathers, it’s like a white fur… Which is weird. Whereas the Highmountain Tauren have the feathered headdress which looks great with the Mulgore Tauren armor.
I don’t know if they’ve tweaked helmet sizes on tauren lately, but I’m pretty sure the model has always looked like that. Like, there are pictures from when it was first added to the PTR here:
Could it be that you’re thinking of the Highmountain heritage helm? Or the Hunter/Mail TP helmet?
So, you’re equating the internal politics and conflicts of different Indigenous peoples…with the colonization, violent displacement, and attempted cultural eradication of the entire race? Fancy.
You could say the same thing about the entire Pandaria expansion and chinese culture. Or Scarlet Monestary and the catholic church representation, or Gilneas representing 17th century England, or the Valajar and its similarities to Norse mythology such as Odyn, Heimdall and Valhalla’? Goblins as 1940’s Chicago crooks. Trolls = High Jamaicans …
Everything in the game is inspired by and representing a culture. Literally everything!
So who cares? Don’t speak for the culture! If they saw their culture being represented in this game, 99% of the time, that culture doesn’t care and rather enjoys the fact that they are being included and celebrated in a fantasy.
That’s the problem with american culture. We assume other cultures are okay with us appropriating them. No one would be caught dead walking out in public with a headdress and ceremonial beads, but it’s okay for anthropomorphic cows in a video game?
Well, for 1 thing I’m not American I am Australian.
Also, this has been tested with western people wearing other cultural clothes and asking those cultures if they are offended. It is Scientifically proven that they don’t care and instead they find it fun 99% of the time. It is a very, ‘VERY’ small minority that are offended. Those who are offended are the kinds of people that live lonely lives, who don’t at all embrace their culture or celebrate it and they are just annoyed by everything because they themselves are miserable and need something to complain about. It’s always other people speaking for cultures they are not even connected with. Therefore they have no right to complain or be offended in the first place.
