I have had three people use the Restored Dreamleaf on me and I am not receiving the buff visibly or hidden because I am still only getting 2 Shadowed Dreamleafs…

Yesterday I used a dreamleaf on a guildie and it didn’t take, so still bugged.
I’d wager there is something else in play here, because the buff is still working perfectly for other people (including me 2 nights ago, using leaves I had gathered on alts to self-buff myself outside Valdrakken).
Some more info might help narrow it down. Were you in a party with those players? Are they the same faction as you? What zone were you in when you tried? War mode on or off (if a world zone)?
I was in a party with them and made sure we were same faction. They hadn’t done the quest yet which may have been a factor, but I don’t think it should be.
They did finish the quest and buffed themselves and got a second from another guildie which worked at that point. That’s why I included that info.

All of that sounds like it should have worked, so pretty puzzling.
So fyi, I msg’d a GM and he confirmed the people must be same faction. Also from my testing, you need to be the person who gave them the quest. I had random people who happened to have a completed dreamleaf use them on me and 3/3 didnt work.
This isn’t true, as the dreamleaves I used on myself from my alts were given to me by our last axe achieved. We’ve been carrying them forward like this ever since our first drop. That behavior also matches the tooltip’s description.
Well maybe they fixed something then because I had 2 horde friends do it, didnt work. Then I had 3 random people who happened to have completed tattered’s use it on me and it did nothing.
Did you complete a Superbloom and verify your currency bonus hadn’t changed? If they buff you and then leave group, the buff will disappear but the bonus remains on the server side.
If instead a change was actually made, it’s a bad change and goes against what the literal tooltip says: “Empower a holder of Fyr’alath…” which clearly implies anyone on the quest chain.
Can someone explain to me how this stupid tattered dreamleaf item works? I think I was able to randomly cast it on someone in a raid on my first superbloom I tried when I absolutely did not understand how it worked, but never had anything cast back on me.
Now I see people in raid chat talking about trading these items/buffs. But when I offer to do it and meet with someone I only ever get “Invalid Target” when I try to cast my tattered dreamleaf on someone else.
This means the person in question has already done the quest for someone else at some point. You can only ever do it once on a character.
Yet another half baked annoying system. They didn’t think this through too much. I am on this part of quest and I don’t have set people I can group or raid with for this and on top of that I would have to orchestrate them having already gotten the leggo?
