Taste for Blood

I may be part of the minority here as an 2H Arms enthusiast, but the upcoming Taste for Blood rune feels bittersweet.

Pressing Overpower always feels good, so being able to press it more often is definitely a win in my book… but maintaining Rend to do so just feels bad with how little damage Rend actually does.

Is there any chance the devs could add “In addition, Rend now scales with weapon damage” to the rune similar to Deep Wounds, or something that actually makes it deal impactful damage?

Just remember, you can hold a charge of taste for blood, use it before your second tend tick, get another charge on your next global for back to back OPs.

It does seem like a waste of a rune idea. I know they pulled it from Wrath but it’s out of place for sod when the ttk is less than the reset time for an overpower. Also I believe it doesn’t reset with a normal OP proc.

Taste for blood would have made more sense if they reworked it with bleeds healing you for a small bit. It would scale nicely in pvp and pve where warriors are usually getting beat on by more than one person where it would add a nice bit of sustain and threat alignes well with the class character.

that’d be a neat idea Torschok

When this mechanic was first introduced, rend scaled and did good damage and battle stance gave armor pen. The rune is nothing more than a lazy copy from future expac with no thought put into it.

that seems to be all of warriors runes sadly, not a single “new” skill or anything to improve or change a playstyle lol

…glad stance.

People really just make up their own bs to make themselves sound smarter?

Glad stance is giving what exactly? Looking like worse damage than dual wield fury, worse threat than defensive stance, worse tank survivability than defensive stance… so that leaves pvp? Maybe some boomers who go “oog me like shield” will enjoy it while griefing their team by not being arms and giving mortal strike, but that is about it.

And its the most active rune we got in the 2 phases

Oog me shield hits you with a sheild slam.

Then I stun you.

Then I devestate you

Then sword and board procs

Shield slam.

Come out of stun? Disarm.

Weapon chain? shield block

Sheild slam.

Also intercept, charge thunderclap hamstring.

Also shield slam.

With the rune, you should be able to Overpower in any stance.

Agreed. They need to at least allow it in berserker. Pref it being stance agnostic though as you suggested.

I think you are greatly over estimating the damage that will go out. Devastate is not a lot of damage. Auto attacks from a single 1h will not be a lot of damage/rage gen. If you have all 4 of the SBV items in the phase (that all come from the raid) shield slam might do OKish damage. Meanwhile you are likely getting melted in all directions from some of the 7 priests that make up each side of a battle ground now a days.

You give me the impressions of someone who has some fantasy of what gladiator stance is in you head and really like that fantasy. There are people to this day that thought that pvping as prot in vanilla was fun. They just want to put blinders on and live in their own world.

You give the impression of someone who doesnt understand that getting dunked on in pvp is always going to happen, especially to warriors.

I can cope, can you?

glad stance is a WoD skill and that took what 3 phases for it to come LOL
Talking about making up BS at least have some sense of reading comprehension

Its a new skill in such that they didnt have it before and now do.

Talk at me again when being able to decipher basic logic becomes a trait you excel in.

It is not new, its an old skill being brought back by popular demand tho but there has been nothing new for warrior that is anywhere close to what healing mages have or at least skills that change how a warrior engages but its ok if you’re so devoid of thought that its hard for your head to not cave in itself

I think one of the following would be good:

Change taste for blood to proc on any bleed the warrior applies. This way rend is circumvented entirely.

Cause rend to scale with attack power. I think a full 100% attack power coefficient would be a bit much but maybe 50%?

Have Rend apply a debuff that increases physical damage taken by the target by 4% (similar to wrath talent) with taste for blood.
