This currency vendor gives you gold instead of your Reals back if you try to refund something even within seconds of selecting it. Without a purchase confirmation window, there is a real (no pun intended) danger of losing your Reals by purchasing something you would never use (especially with the new Tier 0 gear being added). Below is my ticket and conversation with the GMs handling it. I would like to note specifically as a response to the final message from them, that Classic (Vanilla iirc) did not have Currency vendors, so using the “Classic Experience” is not exactly accurate. Not to mention, in going through the Help system one of the suggestions to resolve this issue is to refund the item with the vendor to get the currency back!
I submitted the initial ticket within an hour or so of the incident, after discussing it within guild chat and deciding it couldn’t hurt to ask for help with something that definitely does not appear to be working as intended.

I accidentally clicked on a Recipe (Flask of Distilled Wisdom) when viewing the vendor “Pix Xizzix” in Booty Bay. I was not presented with a purchase confirmation popup, nor will the vendor refund my currency (the Tarnished Undermine Real) when I try to sell the recipe back. I am not an alchemist, and would like my currency refunded (take back the recipe), so I can purchase an item more appropriate for my character please.

After reviewing the case and information, while we understand your request given the circumstances, due to certain limitations on in-game purchases in Classic, Customer Support does not refund, reverse or provide compensation for items and currency.
I know that the answer is different from what you may have been hoping for, and we would definitely seek for a workaround in order to help, but there are no exceptions that can be made here, as all situations must adhere to the established guidelines. Your help text itself indicates currency purchases should be refundable for the currency used. That’s all I was asking to be able to do. The vendor is refunding gold instead of the currency, which is likely not intended.

After extensive research into your situation, as my dear Friend Game Master Ekorawdeek inform you before, we are unable to cancel the use of the currency you used, when you purchase an item on World of Warcraft Classic the purchase is not refundable as it was at the first launch of classic and as it is mentioned of the link previously provided “There is no refund timer in WoW Classic.”, we are also not able to exchange the item obtained, these are restrictions on the game mechanics desired by our development team that we are not able to circumvent.
I understand this may be different that you would wish things work and if you feel like this should be changed, I would recommend reaching out to the WoW forums directly as that’s the best way to leave feedback for the developers.
