I didn’t see this listed here, but multiple times I have used target dummies in Silvermoon and got stuck in combat indefinitely. I ran all the way across the zone trying to drop it. I had to log out to finally leave combat.

Is this only happening on pet classes?

There is potential, I mean i usually run away and put my pet on passive that should stop the combat - I did try a resummon of my pet but it didnt drop combat.
This is still happening as of 3/29/2026. Come on Blizzard!

Came here to report this. On Druid, and guess what - even Shadowmeld doesn’t drop combat.

Its worse now. Wouldn’t let me log out of the game, so I closed the program came back, still in combat. This is the worst action on bugs in the history of Wow. New expansion well known reported bug no action by the admins. Its like they are busy putting in new bugs and nerfing classes rather than making a solid game.
Edit: All of a sudden it is now working ok. I did also notice a workaround if you get stuck, head out the city to the right as you leave the target dummy’s and it should clear combat hopefully.

My Hunter seems to drop combat sometimes. Sometimes feign death works. My priest seems to get stuck forever so I just log out and back in. I just stopped using the dummies for now lol, I’ll use the turnip toy
You’re right, but I think I found the answer: let the tanking dummy hit you, at least once. I think this happens when you hit the tanking dummy but stay out of range so it never gets a chance to respond. If you’re stuck in combat, you can walk all the way across the zone, come back, he’ll clobber you, and suddenly you’re out of combat.

Sometimes I have to exit the game completely to drop from combat on Dummies. Blizzard, when are you fixing this?
I’m halfway to the sunwell and still cant mount-up. C’mon Blizzard this is a really old problem dating back to vanilla. Can you not amend the code to prevent this or is the framework too outdated to fix a 20 year old bug?

Come on, Guys.
I have been at the bank for more than five minutes. I do not have a dummy targeted. All of my DoTs have been gone for more than 4 minutes.
I have finished with the dummies and would like to mount up and pick herbs now.
PUT a FREAKING combat reset that performs a class-inclusive vanish near the dummies. Found a solution to your problem. You’re welcome. It’s not that hard. We’ve had this bug since the dawn of time, and it is exhausting.

Sometimes it resets correctly but in most cases it does not. It doesn’t matter that there are no dots on the dummies, that I have put my weapon away, have no active pets out and have walked half across the whole of Silvermoon. Only logging out resets the combat state. Quite annoying
We’re almost to Season 2 and this bug still happens. Three vanishes later, 500 yards traveled, two reload UI’s, still in combat. JFC!
