This really needs not to be restricted to a weapon effect. Should be added to the mount collection window to not have to swap your weapon out constantly, and also be able to use it on your other characters.

That would indeed be awesome. I mean, I love the visuals.
Of course I’d say the same thing about a weapon from Firelands. Except that one was tied to them shapeshifting. But I don’t see why they couldn’t offer it as a toggle like they do for druid flight form (for the folks who got the druid class hall mount).
Just like the mini-pet is tied to the guild achievement. This mount should be tied to the player achievement, not the weapon effect.

I use a macro for this specifically, so this is never an issue for me.

I agree with this, but in the meantime I just use a macro that makes it feel like I’m using a mount.
/equip Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest

/equip NameOfWeapon
Have to hit the macro twice to re-equip your normal weapon, but… eh, it works.

The marco is not really a good solution. Considering you can’t equip your weapon in combat, you’ll find yourself with a dud weapon if you forget to click it twice.
Not to mention you can’t use it on other characters.
My macro isn’t the same as the one listed and frankly I’e never had a problem since the one I use works. I’d rather that development money be spent on new features rather than paper doll dress up for old content.
Additionally, whether other characters can use it is meaningless to me. If I needed that character model I could farm a Lifebinder’s handmaiden off Deathwing anyway.
I should mention, the first click it equips the staff, the second click transforms you and re-equips your weapon. Since you can’t mount in combat anyway, it’s been working wonders for a long time.
There are other macros out there for it. And I get what you’re saying about it not being a “good solution”, but it’s better than nothing

That macro doesn’t work by the way.
I actually tested it out before posting. It does work. If you’re using more than one weapon like a mh/oh, youll have to add both to the macro.
I think they changed it so you can’t anymore. I tried while in combat earlier today (for get to switch after switching specs) and it didn’t let me. But yeah you used to be able to for sure
