Tar Trap macro help

i am trying to make this macro

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=25 [@cursor] Tar Trap, [@cursor] Flare

but it only cast flare any ideas whats wrong?

The reset is too long you set it to 25, it should be like 2 or 3. I don’t really think you need a cast sequence for this, make one macro that throws the tar trap at your cursor position and hotkey that so you can just pop it off anywhere you want.

then do the same for flare, throwing it at the cursor position. this will be the most versatile way to play.

if you combined them into their own macro, you will have to find a bar slot for that and it will never really work correctly because tar trap has a cool down so the macro will not be functioning correctly if you try to use it when it’s not available.

Make two cursor macros instead.

If you really want a castsequence macro, I used this in the beginning:

#showtooltip Tar Trap
/castsequence [@cursor]reset=combat, Tar Trap, Flare, Flare

It essentially allows you to cast Tar Trap, then once the trap has been triggered, you can press it again and you’ll cast Flare to that same spot(assuming your cursor is still placed there), and if you then wait for the CD on Flare to pass, you can then press the button again and it will once again cast Flare to where your cursor is placed.

It’s structured to reset when you leave combat or when you’ve executed the whole sequence of 3 abilities. If you use something like “reset=25” instead, then it will reset itself 25 seconds after you pressed it the last time, if I recall correctly from what @Adreaver said in another thread a while back.

The problem with castsequence macros as I have come to experience, is that every now and then, they can fail to move from one part of the sequence to the next. Example: If you’ve pressed it to cast Tar Trap, the next time you press it it still won’t cast Flare.

It WILL work most of the time, but the moments where it does fail really annoys me, so I went back to using Tar Trap and Flare on separate buttons/keybinds.
Each one macro’ed to look like below:

#showtooltip Tar Trap
/cast [@cursor]Tar Trap

#showtooltip Flare
/cast [@cursor]Flare
