It’s fine if healers pull. Had one do that in a leveling dungeon where I had no clue which direction to go - following the healer was so much easier than checking the map all the time.
You spank it, you tank it. And no rez for you when (not IF) you die.
Of course, levelling in 5mans, it’s easy to say tanks need to speed up. But as a former tank who now dps’ exclusively, I’d pay good money to see ANYONE but a tank pull in a relevant raid setting and then complain.
I mean, I get your point. I mained tank during legion as DH and DK during BoD, but you know fairly well that the OP is about instanced content, most likely LFD, but you’re trying to compare it to current tier raiding. Of course just about anyone would die, tanks included, mind you, without a healer.
Imagine making claims of greatness, while hiding behind a forum alt.
I’m willing to bet most of the OP’s support comes from players who have never tanked and would probably be utterly terrified of doing so.
And ‘character dependent’ achieves is an option.
…wherein said ‘main’ ALWAYS resides but somehow never shows up.
Not a huge fan of entitled tanks, i get if you’re new and learning so you go slow but when asked if they could possibly go faster and they act like you just pimp slapped god himself and get offended, no lol. I don’t need those kinds in my group and idc if they leave we’ll find another in 30 seconds it’s no sweat off my back.
I’ve had DPS lead keys just fine calling interrupts, just because tank is the default doesn’t mean they’re the end all be all. Everyone has to know the dungeon not just the tank, it’s a group effort and the tank is the extension of the groups will imo and i like to be efficient so having a bad dps is just as frustrating as having a bad tank or healer as it requires almost the same effort to be good at dps with situational awareness and basic game knowledge.
You think me making a claim that tanks aren’t needed in heroic dungeons, regular mythics, or low keys is me making a claim of greatness? lol what? All that stuff is extremely trivial content, there isn’t much difficulty about it. It’s not supposed to be difficult.
And if you’re worried about me posting on my main then why are you trying to hide yours here? lol
Are you claiming to post on yours? The one that is still wearing heirlooms and gear from Legion? Lets drop this “posting on our main” nonsense.
No I think it’s you that is confused because tanks are special
It take a special person day in and day out to put up with the community the way it is, to even want to queue is honestly a service to the mouthbreathing masses
We don’t have enough tanks as is, so at the moment yes, tanks are very special
I thought the context was obvious, but I guess I should clarify. You don’t need to learn to tank in low level dungeons, and you don’t learn to tank m+ in low level dungeons. They aren’t remotely the same.
If you want to get what little knowledge out of low level tanking that you can use in M+, then pull more, pull faster, and learn the limitations of your cooldowns such as they are in those low levels. Pulling slowly in content that poses no threat to your character teaches you nothing about tanking in high level content that requires appropriate cd usage and pacing.
It’s like saying “I’m going to learn to race bikes by walking around the block”. They are similar only in that they both use leg muscles, although in a different context entirely. The tools you need to actually learn to use you either don’t have yet, or don’t need yet and thus won’t develop the skills to use appropriately (or worse, learn bad habits and use them incorrectly).
Leveling a character doesn’t teach you how to play that character; it teaches you how to play it wrong, unless you have the foresight to know what doesn’t apply later.
This is your main? fine.
Got a tank in there, somewhere? Let’s see it.
Otherwise everything you, and the others of OP’s support, say on that subject is pure conjecture: there are still somethings, in this world, you have to actually experience in order to speak clearly on them.
