I always thank the good tanks… they are awesome and deserve a nice beer.

Playing as a Tank is a very stressful job. I have a lot of respect for those who Tank. I see a lot of people bashing on Tanks in Mythic+, it’s just upsetting. Tanks should be placed on a pedestal and worshipped, without them we can not get through our dungeons. And ofcourse much respect to healers too for keeping us all alive and well. For a successful group, it is vital to find a tank who has synergy with the healer, if these 2 get along, the run will be easy peezy.

Not really. Tanks have the easiest role in raids and in Mythic+, most of the thought process is removed by addons lol.

Meh. I thank tanks by doing what I need to do. They thank me by doing what they need to do. The actual “thanks” is the reward at the end of the group content.

I don’t use addons to that extent. That would make things so boring I’d fall asleep. Just so we’re clear, other people are free to, but, I like to have fun and that kind of handholding is simply not fun for me.

I used to main tank and can say
We dont measure risk or time our mitigation, we run in and smash panic button when our health drops
We interrupt just as much as anyone else
We scream at you guys for not healing us enough
We only play tank so nobody can blame us for dying too soon
We google the routes in the middle of your key

Then you’re not making a point by not using addons; You’re just not even playing the same game.

The point is not everyone uses addons. Not everyone likes addons. This…isn’t hard, and hardly disparaging to those who do. It’s a personal preference, that’s all.

The only “hard” part about tanking is knowing the optimal routes for each week and each affix. Other than that it’s not harder than DPS, especially in 8.3.
Everyone who plays the game we’re playing uses addons.
