Tanks - Which BfA Dungeon is the Least Fun?

I think it’s Freehold, particularly on my Pally Tank. Poo circles, bomb circles, water circles, sharpshooters, boulder circles, water casters, and patrols galore make me cry (I just want to stand on my Consecrated circle guys! :sob: ) Bosses aren’t too bad, but ugh, the trash is no fun.

Runner up is probably Atal-Dazar - resurrect-y puke and shields aren’t much fun either.

The other dungeons have challenges, but they’re not nearly as annoying.

So what do you think?

Or am I just a noob tank who needs to buck up 'lil buckeroo and throw more 'Merica shields instead of complaining?

I love freehold. Pull as much as you can handle burn them down. The least fun I’d say are fights tanks can’t control. Volkal in AD and tentacle boss in SoB comes in mind where you have no real control on the boss and you’re depending that your dps knows what they’re doing.

In terms of trash. SoB. the stun banana are annoying

Siege of boralus for sure. So many ranged archers that you have to move with los, at least on my pally that is. Avenger’s shield just feels so useless in there.

KR. Bridge is annoying since you have to kite the berserkers and dps love facing the poison barrage on you anyway.

In reality once you get the right DPS they are all easy, but that is the tricky part, finding DPS that know what to do and who to target and to hit the right DPS marks to kill things the right way.

Once you pass M10 you need to start thinking about specialist teams, like rogues, locks, bres and so on. But once you pass 15 you have to have specialist teams or you fail.

But the hard part of all dungeons is the week you are doing. Some dungeons on some weeks you just need to be more careful than others. And above all find the right route to do when you have no skips available.

Don’t care for any of the BFA dungeons tbh. They are definitely not as fun as the Legion dungeons were imo.

Generally depends on the week, but my main hard passes are waycrest manor and shrine of the storm. Atal’dazar and freehold are two of my favorite, along with under rot.

Any of them on Mythic +. I am sorry but I loved tanking and I was a progression raid tank for a very long time. Then Mythic + happened and ruined it all. Ruined because I suddenly had to worry about being flawless. Knowing how to pull every inch of a dungeon and beating a damn timer for developers that couldn’t find another way to challenge us is asking too much of me. More stress, and no fun isn’t enjoyable game time for me.

WAYCREST.
The narrow halls as a VDH makes kiting abysmal and my souls are auto-consumed way more than I would like.

Any dungeon where the healer wants to dps instead of heal or the dps feel inclined to pull in your stead. Otherwise, no dungeons really stand out.

Freehold is buggy though. I get randomly teleported up onto the bridges in mob packs or teleported down off a ledge into mob packs. Started streaming every time I do freehold to try and catch it on video lol. One time the teleport reached warp speed and crashed my game. Happens when I try to run the ledge to the right before the first boss, or on the way from boss 2 to boss 3.

If we’re taking m+ out of the equation, Siege and motherlode are my absolute least favorite dungeons.

KR one of my most favorite. I know I’m weird…

If we’re throwing m+ in as a factor, it all depends on the affixes

But that’s exactly what healers should be doing.

Dpsing as well as healing (not instead of).

Failing with a suboptimal group isn’t an absolute. I think the most important part is having enough interrupts.

Freehold is ine of my favorites. Get to do a lot of big pulls and the bosses are straight forward.

I’d rather do anything but sots. That place just sucks in every possible way. Yes, I would even rather do KR.

A healer should be doing dps. They can let you sit around 50-60% and be stable. That’s their job.

Motherlode and freehold. No pull ever goes smoothly there.

Also this isn’t bfa, but apparently gnomergan is hated? Had a tank say “heck no” (he used a sinful word) and peace out the other day.
