Why is it that many Tanks these days think they are like the Flash, charging through dungeons at break neck speed. It seems that they are completely oblivious to the rest of the groups members running behind them trying to catch up. What’s up with that?
Love me fast tanks. Git r done, pull pull pull. Here’s the rope, try and keep up.
What are Blood DKs then?
Bro if I’m going faster than you can keep up with, you gotta turn off the RP walk
It’s been this way since Wrath when they introduced LFG.
This has been the case for like fifteen years. The mobs hit me like gnats, obviously as long as the group can keep up I’m pulling as much as I can handle because that’s fun and fast.
Pay attention to the tank and you can keep up. ALT (default self cast) + feathers is nice ability.
I had a dungeon the other day where I died a couple times due to the tank overpulling, probably my fault for trying to dps on the fly, but they all just kept going. Thusly I was running back during three out of four bosses.
No one kicked me though, and usually it goes smoother than that, so I guess it’s all good. I don’t need blue gear at this point so all I wanted was the credit for completion, so there is that. I do appreciate a nice chill run where I can actually play but if they want to speed it up, well credit is credit.
You have the same ability to push your W key as they do. Stop trying to unload on the first mob aggroed and wait for them to stop. They stop, you stop. Don’t like how the tanks are tanking? Roll your own tank and tank your dungeons your way.
Because heroic dungeons are extremely easy and there’s no reason to slow down.
Start doing mythic+ if you want proper dungeon experience
Dungeons aren’t something to savior and take your time with. I can understand taking it in the first time through, but after that it’s all about time efficiency. Anything that isn’t +7 or higher (including m0, heroic & normal) are very easy, so speeding through them so that you can do more in a shorter time span just makes logical sense. I know it annoys some players, but they need to stop convincing themselves that the tanks are doing it on purpose to annoy them. It’s all about saving time.
They want to complete the content in a timely manner. As they should.
I agree with the above poster. Anything that isn’t a +7 or higher (and even then that can be very easy depending on the affix) is just so easy and boring. I don’t blame new players for wanting to take a look around and see what everything does, but the majority of people just want to get it over with asap to collect their gear or levels and move on to the content they want to do.
If your tank is pulling everything, just don’t dps until they come to a stop. As long as you don’t rip aggro you’ll be fine. And if the tank can’t survive what they are pulling then that’s on them. And if you simply don’t like this happening at all… Well, it’s going to in every queued dungeon unless the tank is a brand new player.
I just did BFA dungeons on an alt for the first time in literal years and I can totally see why the new player dungeon experience is soooo bad. If I didn’t know the dungeon I’d be incredibly lost when the tank pulls everything to and including the boss, rinse and repeat as many times as there are bosses.
Until a point, I love going fast as a tank, but what I hate is seeing players who have zero clue as to what is going on and keep running when I stop. And I don’t just randomly stop, I stop as specific spots in certain dungeons because of some mobs.
Like there may be casters I need to group up, so I LOS them and wait, or I hit the next mobs and LOS back the other way, or I stop because of things like that one TBC TW dungeon where there are 4 mages at the end that then spawn the boss, there is one group of enemies you cannot pull all at once or you just die, yet some DPS keep going and pull them all and get us killed.
I love fast tanking, but please if a tank stops, stop with them, they are mostly doing it for a reason.
if a dk is outrunning the group maybe its the group not the tank?
there is no try. there is only do.
Its simple the alt tank, most likely has done that dungeon to many times to count and wants it over in a fast manner. …
It’s not a hard concept to understand, give you some advice don’t tag the mobs until the tank stops
Okay leveling a healer through dungeons wasn’t bad but a max fresh healer(mostly at start of xpac) depending on experience can be a living hell.
You have tanks that do not care about group just seeing how much they can tank and killing the group which is not saving time.
But I do like tanks that plan where to stop. Healers(depending on class) do have to stop and heal.
Not everyone that plays is a skilled mythic raider. I’m mostly talking for the start of a expansion.
three extremely simple rules that will make dungeons way better for everyone:
- stay with the tank
- the pull doesn’t start until the tank stops moving
- if you get aggro, run to the tank
