Tanks that can do all, why do we even have healers?

Yes, I know raids, but lets be honest here. With Druids and Paladins being tanks while also simultaneously being insane DPS and Healers… is just horrible.

Who needs teamwork when the tank can solo an entire 5 man? I have been healing on my alts since Vanilla, and yes, there have been tanks with some sort of healing, but it is bad now. It used to be that if a healer died, you had a high chance of wiping. Now, doesn’t matter. Hell, the dps doesn’t matter, because Blizzard set up the tanks to do everything.

Playing today, I have had multiple runs where the tanks would not stop. If I needed mana, oh well. They can heal themselves, so why bother stopping. Hell, in one run the tank kited mobs to me, they killed me with aoe. He even said “LOL”. As I was running back, he finished off the mob, then took down the boss… Really blizzard? Who needs teamwork or collaboration when you have tanks that don’t need anyone.

Too many classes cater to toxic players, and require no teamwork or players working together. Stop with the “All-in-one” tanks.

all specs can solo content they outgear by enough. it’s not a tank issue that a 240 tank can solo a heroic dungeon tuned for 190ish ilvl

I should of mentioned that this was a timewalking dungeon, and we were all still leveling. Nobody was over 130 gear score.

Well, it might help to learn how those tanks work in higher content before you demand they be changed.

From a tank perspective 5 mans are still easier with dps to help kill things faster and that requires someone to heal the dps, dps tend to do silly things sometimes like stand in bad or pull extra things by not paying attention.

If the tank doesn’t -need- heals, they can just keep going. There’s nothing wrong with it. If you need mana? Drink while they’re tanking. Heck, let them die if they’re overconfident.

I tanked a Grim Batol TWing on my paladin earlier, and the healer was pretty much doing nothing. I was healing myself and the party. My trinkets mostly kept me healed, so my word of glories were used on my party members, cause the mobs have aoe and the healer was too busy being afk half the time.

for the love of god, get to max level before demanding any nerfs. Every spec functions very differently while leveling than at max level.

Not to mention some level 60s run Normals for the Oribos weekly.

Of course a level 60 decently geared tank isn’t going to need healing in a normal dungeon.

My main question though.

You admit the tank didn’t need your healing and are calling for a nerf to their healing.

But then you say you were out of mana.

…so what were you spending your mana on?

also tanks still need healers cause some bosses put debuffs on us only a healer can remove, higher level bosses can still end us quick with out a healer. The dungeon system is just rebalanced so its not so rigidly dependent on a healer. Back in wrath and before that if a healer died or failed at their job…everyone died… that was fine for back then cause the player base accepted it. But not todays player base, most want dungeons to be double as fast as possible.

You’re not even max level and you’re calling for changes in content where a player is then scaled down to a level where Blizzard makes absolutely no claim that any class is balanced because specs are balanced with end-game max level content in mind!?!?!?!

I suppose you also probably aren’t aware that certain trinkets don’t properly scale in a TW dungeon either and either do substantially more healing or damage than they should, or that characters can use old legendaries, but I guess you’d just chalk that up to a tank being broken and needs nerfs too?

probably because pretty much every mob in the game now has a randomly targeted or mass aoe ability, sure the tank can take it, but the other 4 players getting hit by 30 or 40 mobs…? not so much.

I’d be in favor of blizz coding in a insta wipe if everyone but the tank is killed by random trash aoe. It might do soemthing to quell the solo “heros” who get everyone else killed just to make themselves feel, meaningfull

No one is pulling 30 or 40 mobs at once in a TW dungeon, stop with the nonsense. I’d be interested in seeing the overhealing done if I’m to be honest. Lately that’s all I see is the healer spamming AoE heals and 50-60% is pure overheal.

I zoned into De Other Side to do the Bastion calling today. Our tank and heals left before the first pull. The three of us DPS ran it and never did get a tank/heals for the run. (Heroic)

Almost every dungeon I am in now is just nuked… Even the leveling dungeons, people just steamroll through. It’s like the scaling is all off or something.

Druids can’t heal anybody but themselves while tanking.

Trust me if you’re running non-trivial content (10+ keys, normal+ raids) tanks needs heals lol

I do agree, healing trivial content is hella boring though
