In case whoever monitors arena is absolutely blind, tank specs are still viable in arena at high rating via supatease’s stream yesterday. 0 people enjoy playing arena into tanks. please fix this, your game is terrible right now.

yea some dont, some dont like double dps, some dont like healers…
Few people dont like demon hunters, You would think 2 dps should be able to kill a tank.

Wisdom from the Arena forum:
“Every other class/spec besides ones own is OP, and should nerfed into oblivion and made unplayable because reasons.”
Tanks are made to soak large damage, self heal, and generally be very hard to kill.
That in itself would be fine, but now they have essences and trinkets and corruption that deals large amounts of damage while retaining their survival.
People that play bears in pvp seem to struggle with logic. It’s broken and if you can’t see that, then maybe playing a tank in pvp is probably the right spec for you.

I faced a guardian, DH and rdruid team as tsg. They did crazy amounts of damage. But the rdruid was kiting which meant he wasn’t getting the guardian buffs most of the time. So he died. Not sure if high level the healers are way smarter.

Not all tanks bring something useful to the table
So did you face a tank or did you watch Supatease play Guardian and say “I don’t like this” but continued to watch his stream?
if you have any idea how wow pvp works and the general sentiment of how the player base wants the game to work, you understand that having tanks be meta is a terrible proposition
queuing into 1 million bears who were hitting 123 and winning by passively existing was the worst part of last season
players want agency, they want their skills and choices to matter, they want to be able to outplay and secure kills
guardian promotes none of that for both teams. It’s just a dps race. It’s bad pvp gameplay

I’d feel worse for monks if their damage and heal specs both weren’t tier 1.

That I really don’t care if BrM is garbage in pvp because MW and WW are tier 1.
Tanks would have a valid argument if blizzard actually balanced them for pvp, aka brawler spec but they don’t so specs that function like guardian shouldn’t exist in pvp.
I feel you are going off on a tangent here that is starting to get severely off topic.
Guardian in current meta shouldn’t be nearly as strong as they are for various reasons, but to say tanks shouldn’t have a place is sad.
I love warrior but only really ever liked prot. So wrath and WoD warrior was the most fun for me on that class because prot was viable in pvp.
I feel tanks should be balanced in pvp, but replace the healer not a dps.

Tanks should ONLY have MITIGATION ESSENCES and MITIGATION CORRUPTION EFFECTS and on top of that should deal 50% less damage in rated pvp.
