Addressing your point a(nd not veering off to snarky lala land), apart from the fact we are, any of us here for the thanks, ego inflation or self esteem props: If we’re talking in general, honestly I think being a healer is the ruff spot. I think everyone gets swatted at; DPS, Healer, Tank… and patted on a good job. I’ve noticed most of the back patting in game after a great satisfying run where we all (usually guild mates) did better than our own personal best the last time.
As far as forum trash talk -intermittent valid points. It’s human nature to notice when someone does horrible and not thank them when they do awesome - just look at real life! Have a great day - I’d love to tank a dungeon or raid, just don’t have a personal shield tuff enough and recognize that. Maybe you can take me through a few dungeons and give tips?
I’ve thanked all roles. I don’t expect thanks in runs but it’s nice to get them.
If there was a system that enforced or incentivised thanking it wouldn’t feel as nice.
Healers will get more thanks than tanks, simply because they are healing 4+ people.
Healing a tank well gives you a (1/4)c chance he’ll thank you. Heal the whole group well, and your odds of getting thanked go up to (4/4)c (c is a constant depicting how likely one player is to thank you)
Battle rezzes being reserved for tanks and healers is not a lack of respect, that’s for sure.

I get both, I’m either a very good tank or the worst one ever. I had one group where a Druid wanted me to go on his path even though I already had one planned out in Method Dungeon Tools. He spent the entire run second-guessing and being difficult, we failed to time as a result. I do the exact same dungeon one level higher with another group, it went smoothly and I was complemented for my tanking.
I mean anyone can fill in to tank a raid and probably do just fine. Rarely do I see listings for recruitment specify tank(s) as the needed role. Finding a capable tank in M+, however, is a huge problem in my experience. Erratic pulls, incorrect pulls, too many mobs, going the wrong way, skipping stuff that needs to be cleared, I’ve seen it all.
What I don’t like in M+ everyone wants to tell the tank how to play, what to pull, what path to take, but nobody actually wants to be the tank themselves.
