Tanks deciding for the entire group what content they get to experience is getting out of hand

Please make final dungeon bosses unattackable until all other bosses are defeated. I am getting so sick of these diva tanks that act like they are the only people playing, and we’re all just NPC’s in their story.

They get instant queues. While the dps wait in queue for a lot longer, then some selfish donkey decides for the entire group that they don’t get to fight every boss in a dungeon. And with the bonus shards we should get for defeating all bosses, they are making all of us queue for more dungeons than should be necessary.

I’m referring to Classic Cataclysm in the OP…I don’t recall everything about MoP but I’m hoping there aren’t any skippable bosses in that expansion.

Maybe tank urself then. You won’t because you like 90% of the playerbase doesn’t want to. If ur upset about tank prio then play a tank.

Even though I leveled several tanks, that is not a valid argument.

Seems like it is. If you want to lead the direction of the dungeon play a tank. Otherwise play dps and follow or ask nicely if you can do a certain boss. If they don’t want to then leave and wait ur 30 min timer and go again.

Absolutely not. I refuse all of that. It’s complete nonsense. This is a group game, and denying people content has actually caught people a ban in the past. It’s considered griefing. You don’t just get to say “if you aren’t playing a tank you don’t get a say.”

They arnt griefing you in any way. They are playing the game. If you don’t like it you as a group can kick them and get another or leave. They are doing the dungeon. In rdf you just need last boss for rewards. Going straight there isn’t griefing.

Well tell the 3 people I know who caught a ban for it that it’s not griefing. I’m done responding to you. You are the exact type of person I want this to affect.

I doubt they got a ban for playing the game as intended. But keep telling yourself that.

I’m sure that if your opinion is that of the majority, then the democratic vote-to-kick system will eventually condition all of the dungeon group player behavior to fall in line as such.

I am always for increasing rewards for doing the optional bosses to promote people actually doing them.

I am against adding an arbitrary barrier preventing completion of the dungeon though.

You’d think so, but it doesn’t work that way. If a lot of players weren’t so apathetic and don’t feel like waiting for another tank to queue, it could work. If the vote to kick system didn’t throw fits at us 50% of the time not allowing anyone to vote kick anyone, immediately saying the vote failed without anyone getting to vote…

They won’t because no one plays tank so it’s another 10-15min wait

Sure it does. If tanks don’t go as fast as possible and do all the skips, they get kicked. Not always, but enough to reinforce that conditioning, and as the system is democratic, it’s not entirely unlikely that that is the majority preference (at least among those who vote).

That’s not true lol. I leveled and geared 3 tanks, and I forced every group to go at my pace and kill everything. Might have gotten kicked once or twice…but what is that…like 0.01% of my runs? And we don’t get to see why we were kicked, we can only assume.

The whole skipping bosses in those Alpha/Beta/Gamma Protocol heroic dungeons in WoTLK Classic was kinda silly. However, as the Bear Tank I did not do that because badges and some people need the boss-specific loot.
