the only benefit to playing tank was the instant queues which was attractive to the inexperienced playerbase. with those now gone, they’ll realize that tank gameplay just isnt that great and go back dps unless they’re a die-hard tank main which are few and far inbetween.
either way, most tank mains aren’t even good so they’ll be stuck at lower rating, basically elo hell if you wanna call it that.
down the line, the chances of even seeing a tank will be small
forums are spammed with “I leave games when I get queued with a tank” and “delete tanks from arena” but then when a healer says it, its an overreaction – healers out here just 2nd class citizens
After a discussion with someone, in spite of the smoke I blow for personal entertainment, I do think allowing ONE tank into a queue as a DPS more or less solves the problem. More so, taking away tank’s instant queues will wildly discourage a lot of them from playing in the first place.
Much like we say that queuing into a booster every so often doesn’t really affect the bottom line of your progress, I don’t believe getting stuck with some scumbag tank every however often is going to matter–especially since the enemy healer has to deal with them too.
It’s still the double impact tho, you’re removing the player from healer role and causing them (whether they queue as tank or dps is irrelevant) to join the DPS role.
I do think that’s an unfair tone with silver, though. Silver is right about it being like socially expected to say you leave tank games, etc. but them not liking being put into the mix is sternly met with hostility.
I don’t agree with silver’s opinion, but I don’t think they’re warranting getting grieved. Lol

im not sure that i am, putting more burden on a role that the game already trashes on isn’t going to be good for its long term success… if healers have instant queues and dps are waiting 10-15 minutes and the changes being made benefit dps and worsen the experience for healers… its simple math?
why are u wigging out so hard, it is legit only a positive change for the game mode, as a healer player myself i legit can’t understand what ur issue is

it won’t be much worse for healers because there’s no longer any incentive for people to queue tanks so they’ll go back to DPS now. or if instant queues are really that worthwhile for them, they’ll heal.
that’s the point here. the biggest driving force for people queuing tanks, which many of the tank defenders have stated on the forums, is the instant queues. that is gone now.
as a healer, you will go from never seeing tanks to rarely seeing them and if you’re good enough to climb higher, which you should be, they’ll be even more stagnant because most tank players aren’t good period.
issue with prepatch is a lot of tanks had their ratings inflated due to abusing being classified as “healers” without actually ever fighting healers. come season 1, they’ll be stuck at 1600 where they belong.
there were some pretty brutal prot pal games this expac that dampened me out of the arena for a few days and i really hope DF can avoid that, at least in solo shuffle - especially if im locked into 6 games at a time with one
the 40% health buff and the potential for double healer solo shuffle games concern me greatly - im not sure i wouldn’t just leave if game one goes deep damp
