Please stop saying you are a tank when in fact you are a dps using full dps gear and a 2h or duel wielding…the whole reason for 2h and DW tanks in classic was threat especially in raids.

Threat is not an issue in leveling dungeons and i dont know yet about raids but i doubt it… all you are doing is slowing the dungeon making healers drink more…

I am currently leveling my druid and when i get a prot warrior or prot paladin with consecration wearing a shield and geard as a tank the runs go so much smoother and i do not go oom every pull trying to keep your DPS butt alive…

In short unless you have a shield or are bear spec stop saying you are a tank and that is final you dps tanks are now banned from my groups on my journy to 40

If your “dps tanks” are having trouble tanking then they’re bad, it has nothing to do with if they’re wearing dps gear. There’s literally no need for tank gear until at least 50

Alternatively, you’re overreacting to the tank getting a tiny scratch and burning all of your mana on a 90% overheal

Threat is a huge issue because of dumb DPS players.

Tanking is legit not fun.

You obviously haven’t healed…tanks now have the retail mentality of pull 2 to 3 groups as dps they drop like fat people on a 5k run

I literally main resto druid in Wrath Classic and disc priest in retail, and have been a healer main on and off throughout my entire time playing this game

Likewise I’ve been a tank main at several points as well. Tanks do not need “tank gear” at 40, and especially not before then when they haven’t even been “upgraded” to plate yet. If the group is failing then either they’re bad or the healer is bad. Period.

I tanked Gnomeregan in of the tiger gear and arms spec tonight. It’s not that deep.

Also no, fury prot is to maximize threat and to kill bosses quickly (which results in less healing, mind you).

Dungeon grinding with a 2h, a Feral in the group, using Sweeping Strikes and Whirlwind is some among the best feelings in the game. A prot specced Warrior is absolutely gonna lose threat on a pack of 4 unless your DPS waits for sunders. The aforementioned 2h? Good luck taking anything from them if you they get their 2 GCDs of setup.
