it don’t matter what your doing raiding, doing normal dungeons, heroic dungeons, keys, leveling dungeons there’s always a dps trying to tell you what to do even when you ain’t doing nothing wrong. some of you really need to go play a single player game or just solo.

Most of the time when i tank, most people are actually pretty chill with me. Even when i overpull and die to stupid crap they’re just like: yeah bruh it happens. I’ve found that in general, if you bring a positive attitude where you’re willing to accept your mistakes, and try to understand the other people in your group, most things will go pretty well.

I’ve honestly have only seen that in low level content where everone thinks they are the PuG star. Doesn’t happen in mid to high keys.

I’ve had people only tell me what to do in mythics.
I, not so politely, tell them I got this. It’s not mean but it’s curt. If they don’t like it they’re free to leave or they’re free to never invite me again. Either way I’m the tank, You just sit there and look pretty and damage.
But honestly I’ve only ever had to do that twice out of like a 100 runs

I dont like when tanks pull single pulls on the times when its usually double pulls… but i dont say anything
Just ignore them until the dungeon is over then thank them for the tips for future runs. Probably will never see them again.

In normal leveling dungeons maybe 1 in 5. In in 10 so obnoxious I just drop group.
Tanking is a lot like being on a government job clearing trash. The benefits are good, you do a ton of work and everyone around you treats you like you do nothing.
Frankly they should take one tanking role and put it at beyond stupid easy and leave the rest hard. This way players can make an alt on the stupid easy version and experience all of the benefits without the ton of work. And the other tanks who are more experienced can play the other types of tanks and won’t cry because it’s too easy. This will bring new tanks to the regular group rotation. And so long as we don’t abuse those tanks they may grow up and become real tanks with other alts.
I kind of like the icon above the FF14 players head when they are new, it sets those around you in the right mindset and prevents them from going full on Karen. Maybe new tanks should get an icon in dungeons they have not done before.

As a former state gov’t employee, can confirm that this is correct.
My job entailed also sporadically getting punched in the face, and getting chairs slammed in to me. So, yeah, it was quite similar to tanking.

You know what I hate about tanking? The amount of warlocks and hunters outside of dungeons and raids who have taunt on their pets. I long for the day where pet taunts are cancelled out by the real tanks.
Also it hurts our dps so…knock it off.

Nah, I was in medical. I saw first hand some of the ish that went down. Sure, there were some bad seeds (and some were just complete derps), but they were by far the vast minority.
In my experience in tanking on this toon (since WoD) I’ve generally had only a handful of occasions where people get irritable or grumble about pointless stuff.
99% of the time, I get the impression that most people want me to succeed in tanking in a Dungeon/Raid/World boss etc… and not fail or wipe all the time

yep. I thought I would hate it when I started playing ff14, but I ended up really liking it. People were a lot more forgiving of mistakes because they knew I was new to the game.
