Tanking services

Then why bother. Go farm on your own… Lemme guess you are one of those " LFG need dps. All orbs res along with all the good drops".

Yeah no thanks /ignore is most logical response.

Oh man… Yep. I never ever play with any groups that “res” anything.
It’s call a 5man, not 3 or 4man with “res’d” stuff so the 1 or 2 PUGs have no chance at all.

Healers are so common that most of the time I have to create my own group if I want to do a dungeon because the majority of the time the ones being formed in LFG already have one.

I dont res orbs

Ok, that’s fair enough…

But… I thought you wanted to get into a group?

Wanting to do a dungeon, and being asked to do a dungeon are separate things. Only the latter, can you request payment of some sort.

so i cant advertise through whispers? only relying on people coming to me?

How do you tank endgame content…as a 48 priest? You must be a legend.

Jokes like this person aside, there is a concept called SUPPLY AND DEMAND.

Tanks are generally, LOW in SUPPLY and HIGH in demand.

To all of you healers and especially DPS, the difference between this guy and you is that you are a dime a dozen. You are replaceable. He is not.

There is a reason chat is filled with “LF tank, just need tank, tank and g2g”. It’s the least played role. There are limited raid spots. In a pug environment, it is hands down the most difficult job. It’s unforgiving, repairs are constant, not to mention that tanks aren’t great gold farmers, especially Warriors.

So comments like “shouldn’t I charge for my heals” or “my totems” or “my DPS” are quite frankly, stupid. Your free to try and do so but nobody is going to pay you because they don’t need to. Plenty of people do what you do.

Do you question why a surgeon makes way more money than a receptionist? It’s because they do something other people CHOOSE not to do, and there for they are in limited supply.

Perhaps your still unwilling to ever pay a tank to run your dungeon?

That’s 100% fine. I probably wouldn’t if I was a DPS/healer.

But then…just don’t. Do you scream and cry at every shop you pass that you don’t feel you should give money too? No, you just don’t buy anything there.

See, it’s that easy.

a) Supply and demand means tanks are limited, and there for have leverage when it comes to their services.

b) Tanks generally cost a lot of money, and usually lack strong gold farming methods.

c) You are not required too pay said tank. Just go find one that’s not charging. Maybe you’ll find one within the minute, maybe you’ll wait an hour and your group will disband. The tank has every right to charge for their services, and you have every right not to seek and pay for said services.

Not rocket science fellas.

Truth. My words written differently. It takes 2 to make a mutual agreement. Well in dungeon’s case, 5.

It’s a game. Unless said game is designed as an educational tool, when the game ceases to be fun, you should change something or stop playing.

Some alt. Some play other games and log in to raid. Some PvP.

If you’re fully raidtank geared and can just blow through a dungeon like it’s a walk in the park, sure, feel free to charge money, but also make sure you loot nothing aside from the coin autosplits. Also, tanking pro-bono from time to time is a good PR move.

its fun earning more gold for the hundreds of times ive done the same dungeons for once though

Just got off work.

I said they’re in raid gear, as a tank, meaning they know how to tank. Yet you think they can’t run dungeons? You’re laughable.
DPS is easier to pass as a bad player and get drops in a raid. A tank isn’t, there are very little of them in the raid vs healers and dps. Were the tank bad it’d be obvious.

And if he wants to do a dungeon for payments? Either way, pretty sure he’s able to ask for payment.

Leave it to thanen/thornado to think his elements set is the best he can get without running MC. So he doesnt know how to play shaman in retail AND in classic.

ITT: People not understanding there is NOTHING in tanking your 5man that benefits the tank. They get NOTHING, you get a quest or a chance at a (prebis)drop that you’re after. Why does the tank get NOTHING?

If you are not a guild mate, and I do not need the dungeon, I won’t be going without some sort of compensation. You get a geared tank for a smooth easy run and you can get the run done instead of spamming LFG for another 30mins.

I usually wait for people to message me “Wanna tank Scholo, we have 4 ready to go” and just respond with “Sure 25g or all greens/blues you guys dont need.” Sometimes they accept, sometimes they laugh, but I’m not going to stop farming to help some random with something when i could farm more gold in that hour.

The easiest way to become rich in classic is with lvl 35 alts and making 3 day cd’s. Best thing is that the cd’s are only going to get more expensive as classic carries on. Hunters are a breeze to lvl to 35. park your alts in an inn for rested and bounce between them.

There wasn’t group finder in classic that made groups for you. Just an interface where you could post that you wanted a certain dungeon/were a certain spec.

Not sure if that was what you meant, or if you mean like Wrath where it would teleport you to the dungeon and assemble the group for you.

While I myself do not charge to tank, I cannot begrudge those that do. Leveling struggle for warriors is real, as are the resulting repair bills, with no real way or time to farm for gold.

cant wait for tbc and group finder in classic tbc

Yeah, I left out the TBC part - then went on to explain how it worked in TBC and then finally, wrath.

I asked you if you wanted to clarify which version you meant.

tbc my friend one of the best versions of enhancement shamans i cant wait.

I mean which version of group finder.

YIKES.

In TBC:

User Interface panel that listed people looking for certain dungeons. You had to make your own group.

WOTLK:

They would group you according to roles, then make the group for you, then transport you to the dungeon.

So “Classic TBC” won’t really be much better than Vanilla other than the user interface panel.
