doing delves, and it seems with more then like 2 targets it has a problem holding aggro. I dont recall this in past expacs.
Pet’s holding aggro has been a common complaint, though, for me, it’s usually Brann that steals it!
Demo has it easier, even if Felguard is squisher and lacks a taunt. Voidwalker is good for snap aggro on a single target, but it’s very easy for Destro and Aff to do way more DPS than Voidy can hold, and Voidy also can’t do aoe threat at all, even with its cleave.
Felguard can hold threat vs Demo very well, even AoE, but if it dies it’s very difficult for a freshly summoned Felguard to get threat back mid-fight, since Felguard only has threat generation, not an actual taunt. There have been times in the past where even as Demo I’ve had to use VW. Demo has low enough personal DPS that VW can hold threat on a single target, and if it dies a freshly summoned VW can snap aggro with a taunt. Far less DPS obviously but there’s times when a particularly tough rare elite or something is made trivial just by constant VW resummoning
It’s pretty frustrating like some kind of circle of annoyance:
*Blizzard designs a pet class >
*Forgets the pet class uses a unique relationship of expendable summon-able pets of a variety >
*Makes “Mandatory Guard” Mandatory pet and gives sac grimoire to only 2 specs >
*Voidwalker is the only pet that holds any kind of aggro >
*Imp only cleanses magic? not curses? (just finished that one delve on dorn with the curse of agony, F— kill mechanic interrupts) >
*felhunter and mandatory guard only ones with interrupt >
*Neither live long enough to use it, and if used it goes on 24 second cooldown which is far too slow.
I could probably reroll hunter and just tame the two headed demon dogos and go “look at how warlock I am” in cloth armour and have more fun.
This was often the case for me in Torghast’s Twisting Corridors when my Felguard got double-teamed by two elites.
