Step 1: dont turn your back to mobs.
Thats all.
Sounds like a very healthy first step.
Step 2: Do turn mobs’ backs towards groups, i.e. face mobs away from your group to prevent cleave, parries, and increase fun.
The ONLY time you ever turn your back is if an elite is chasing a ranged and you need to turn to get it.
Hello fellow tanks
Holy heck, I’ve been doing this wrong THE WHOLE TIME?!?
Why am I just finding this out?
Tank runs inside room to pull out mobs.
Watches them run back in with a massive group shredding their backside and at 30% health.
“Oh boy, here we go again.”
I tank without any pants.
That’s step 3. Meant to demoralize those tanked mobs.
Step 36: Taunt when mobs start to eat your healer.
Step 47.5: Use a nameplates addon to see aggro easy.
Step 47.58: Slow down when the healer that isn’t resto is drinking mana.
Step 47.59: Go when the mage tells you to go even if the healer is drinking mana, or else the mage will pull for you and it will still be your fault if the group wipes.
Step 66.5 if the warlock rips agro from you its because they are also a tank in there own right.
Step 66.7 If your warlock off tank runs up to you with adds its because they are done off tanking.
I think I’d like a refund.
Step 69 tell your dps and healers to run toward you not away when you get agro’d
Step 72.5 if you’re a tank and you’re about to die and a mage frost novas, please don’t stand there like some kind of bafoon, please back pedal and wait for the healer to finish casting then walk forward (and mages please don’t just spam nova>CoC save your nova when mobs start chasing you, your healer, or your tank is in danger it annoys me beyond belief when people use cc wrong)

If you have aggro don’t run away from the tank run to the tank. I mean why are people doing this to strangers in the open world but not in a dungeon.

Do not stay within melee range of mobs if you’re not a melee class. Melee range generates more threat.
