Holy M+ is stressful. Hardly anyone knew mechanics, I only survived the 2nd boss in City of Threads due to lay of hands on myself - people didn’t stack in the circle to get the thing off of me and I was taking crazy damage.
The entire time I was thinking about how I don’t even want/need the 597’s that drop (I got 2 from 2 dungeons, gave them both away). I think I am going to consider myself “geared enough”. I’m bored of running Delves and don’t really need the 603’s anymore. I wanted to try to M+ for Crests but no thank you.
Counterintuitively, low keys are harder than high keys for the reason you listed - no one knows the mechanics. And quality players are mostly in higher keys at this point in the season.
Well good thing you’re a tank. You’re getting the vip spots quickly on higher keys OP. Otherwise good luck getting into as yet another dps at this point.
Thing is, +2s are equivalent to what +11s were before. Not knowing the mechanics at that point is pretty ridiculous. Do them on +0 first to actually learn.
Low keys have this effect where they are actually as hard as a 9 because its likely at least 3/5 of your group has no idea what they are doing, doesn’t interrupt, doesn’t know the mechanics and likely even sucks rotationally.
Well, it gets easier the higher you go, as odd as that sounds. Like, the mechanics become more demanding and there’s more damage and all that, but people tend to get filtered out and the higher you go the better the player.
If you hang in there you will eventually start to run into good players. +2 is the area where people just jump in and try to learn… well, 0 to +4, I’d say.
Very true.
In Shadowlands, everyone with a few extra braincells always did 18’s and 19’s for the weekly vault. Doing 15’s and 16’s was just brutal & painful due to the sheer amount of bad players. But most of these bad players never really made it past 16’s/17’s, nor did they care, as vault capped out on 15.
Same will happen with TWW. Most scrubs will remain in 7’s and 8’s. Doing 9’s and 10’s is where you get solid players.
I do find that mechanics that require obscure positioning and baiting from ranged specs cause the most problems. What’s supposed to happen isn’t always telegraphed well.
That’s why I’m not messing around with upper end-game stuff until life gives me time to be in a guild. Blizzard’s player base has deteriorated so much.
