Anyone tamed Faultline yet ?
The fiery clefthoof from BlackRock Foundry. I tried twice unsuccessfully and am aggravated heh. I got down to just bacer and rings, bow. First attempt I got the Beastlord boss to mount Faultline, and I wasn’t using a pet at all and had open space to tame. The boss died as I was taking, not sure why. I didn’t have barbed on him or anything else and was in tame animation but boss died as I tamed.
Second try yesterday took off most my gear again. This time had pet out until after he came out on chimera mount. Dismissed pet after downed chimera, but the boss this time never mounted Faultline, not sure why.
Unfortunately he only mounts Faultline in mythic mode I guess. Sucks being locked out until next week to try again. If anyone knows of some way to get into another mythic to try again, like some sort of cross realm method I’m not aware of please let me know.
I have! I did it on mythic mode, ended up taking off all my gear aside from a few pieces. Get him down to around 20% and he’ll summon Faultline. Dodge the fire from the chimaera and avoid the white swirls on the ground so you don’t get pinned before dismissing pets.
Once he summons Faultline you can just Aspect of the Turtle and tame. If you want 2 or more of them you can just use the Play Dead glyph for your pet, Feign Death yourself and then the encounter will reset which lets you do it again.

Great tip Khunok, ty. Never knew about the feign trick that’s really cool. Grats for taming yours.
Just wish I could take another shot this week after screwing up heh. Just aggravating as my attempt last week he was mounted on Faultline and I was in the tame animation, away from fire and nothing like barbed on boss. But boss died as I was taming. And no clue why he didn’t mount Faultline my second try even after getting past chimera.
Yeah, kinda sucks that mythic locks are exclusive, so you’re a little out of luck until the next reset.

I did it by just auto-attacking him until he was 20%, but I didn’t take off my gear (this hunter ilvl is low, so I think that’s why it worked lol)

I tamed him on the first day he was available and had no problems at all, kept my gear on too. I attacked him so he would get on the first mount, damaged him some more for the next mount, took out the adds with barrage whilst facing away from him. Don’t think I had a pet out, usually they get in my way and I’ve had them randomly attack and kill mobs even on passive.
Damaged one more time and Faultline came out, pressed tame and he tamed no worries. I did it on 25 man Mythic, more health, less chance of killing them accidentally.

Just got two this morning. One thing I noticed though was that it doesn’t have the traditional tanky abilities that Clefthoof’s have? Anybody else notice that or did I just miss something?
Check your pet’s spellbook. It should have all the abilities that a normal Clefthoof has.
That was it! Thank you! Just came back from a WoW hiatus and boosted this toon. Thank you again.
EDIT: Turns out they’re passive abilities too so they don’t go on the bar.
I am actually inside BRF right now, and the only beasts I see in the pens are Ironcrusher, Dreadwind, and Cruelfang. Faultline isn’t in there at all. Does that mean he won’t show up…or it is a special feature of Mythic mode?
Yes. Faultline only appears on mythic. Besides, he appears from the gate at the back, not the pens.
Ahh…so I didn’t need to freak out then. I was in mythic, but since I didn’t see him in the pens, I got worried.
Now I just need to figure out how to get past the rest of the fight to get him.
