It’s getting late in the expansion, my reps are finally mostly close to being maxed, so I thought I’d start trying to collect dragon riding customizations.
Need like 10 per for some of these appearances.
They are around 650 gold on the AH on my server.
Seems pretty nuts to me. I can only think that either you want dragon customizations to be a gold sink and not something that the average player can complete, OR that you think that most people have millions of gold to burn.
Just because something cost gold does not mean it’s a gold sink. I don’t know what’s with everyone calling anything that makes one open their wallet a gold sink.
Gold sinks completely removes gold from the game. Repairs, BMAH, expensive vendor mounts, etc are gold sinks. Gold that goes from one player to another is not a gold sink.
You think an item that is sold by a vendor to every character in the game is rare?
Blizzard clearly for dragon customization to be a main feature of the expansion.
The drop rate and thus price of this item seems really punitive however, and just based on a quick search I did earlier after I made my post, I’m clearly not in the minority with my opinion.
the average player can buy these. I’m an average player and I’ve bought them. Don’t buy them all, just buy for what you want and if you don’t have enough, just do some quests and buy again when you have more gold.
All items with the Crafting Reagent tag is shared across ALL NA Servers. Same with Flasks, Potions, Food, Combat Runes, Enchants (and any other item Blizz considers a Commodity).
So it’s 650g a pop regardless of server. Also it’s this high because it’s needed in alot of crafted gear like Hunter Bows and everyone is recrafting and crafting stuff. Before the leadup to 10.2 it was around 100g a pop and will likely fall back to that price 2-4 weeks from now as has been with Season 2 in 10.1 given its price history.

it’s a crafting reagent, the price is game-wide, not server specific
it’s artificially inflated right now
The average sale price is ~150g, someone is just trying to manipulated it right now. Which is obvious when you see that 42,000 of the item is listed at a single price, and only four price variations in total as of this post’s writing. The other three price points only making up about 300 items together.
Check back in a day or two, maybe a week at worst, and the price will all but be guaranteed to have dropped back to that average.
