In Vanilla you used to be able to talk to the other faction using punctuation marks.
Is this still going to be the case in Classic? I completely forgot to try it in the stress test. I don’t remember exactly when they changed this.

I’ve not used it much but couldn’t you simple emote whatever you wanted? Can the opposing faction see those?
hmmm i dont remember

They can see normal emotes like /wave, /spit, /hug, etc., but if you do a custom emote like “/e hey ur cute” then it just comes out as “Lunabrow makes some strange gestures” to the other faction.
Ah, thanks for the info
Well back in the Vanilla days other factions could see punctuation marks like ( ) [ ] { } \ / . , etc etc. So you could type “| \ /\ / | /\ /” (I WIN) or whatever you could spell and the opposite faction could see it because only actual letters are not understandable.
Vanilla had an addon called babelfish that allowed you to speak cross-faction with anyone who had it, by babbling a bunch of irritating nonsense. It was kept fairly hush-hush at the time though.

That got removed very early on.
Don’t most servers have server discords anyway? Just fire the message to the other faction player on the server discords and it’ll get to them eventually.
Well this would be done after you killed someone or while you were raiding a city/town or whatever…not really for someone you knew. Even back in 2004 Ventrilo was around so that wasn’t an issue.

Well I couldn’t exactly remember when.
