Talking head frame?

Anybody having difficulty making the talking head frame stay in position after you move it? Using edit mode, im trying to move the box to a different part of my screen but it instantly resets back to where it was after I save my changes. Any ideas what to do?

Got any addons running? I’ve seen folks say some of their addons were making the new UI a bit twitchy

I can’t resize it or reposition it, neither.

It is wild and untameable :frowning:

unfortunately yeah. pretty frustrating how half baked this UI is, even if there werent any bugs.

Anybody know a good way to hide the talking heads? Dominos isn’t getting any new updates and BeQuiet is broken atm.

Addon “No talking heads” seems to be working ok

Pretty sad to require an add-on to get rid of an unwanted intrusive UI element.

I am not having this problem. Did you check the character specific box when you saved it? I did not, but if you did I wonder if there could be a bug there.

YES.

It keeps going back to the middle left of my screen. It doesn’t even go to its default position. It goes right in my way.

I move it. save. and the next time it pops up its back again.

I HATE IT!

I got that. The box pops up but quickly goes away. I wish it never popped up at all, but this is better than having to click it away each time.

I really wish we could shrink it. I think it’s a cool feature, but it’s very intrusive

its a bug. I had the same thing with one of the buff boxes the last couple days.
Im sure they are working on it. :+1:
I just keep moving it back when I log in til they get it fixed

Hey…just a curiosity on my end…but would you try this?

get your UI set up again how you want it…then save the output text to clipboard.
Make a second UI profile, and import that text into it and give it a different name.

the next time this happens, swap to the other profile and see if that puts it all back like you had it.
It might be easier than having to manually move stuff back if it works…until they get this figured out.

Leatrix plus addon solves this

Sounds you have an addon messing with it.

If you are using ELVUI it overrides resize and movement of the talking head frame. The update i think messed with it. The head frame is linked to the “loot/alert frame” anchor. If you move that anchor to the desired spot for the head frame and then go to edit mode then it should show the head frame box in the desired location too. If not elvui then another addon would probably be overriding the setting in the same way with an “alert/loot” option location.

Was working ok for me, not sure why it is not for you guys? Maybe its a common addon you guys are using?

Honestly I wish Blizz hadn’t even made the UI changes. Most of them are so half-baked and lacking functionality that the addons were better.

Plus the broke the addons that used to handle all these UI functions.

Can’t resize 90% of the frames is the biggest problem, stock WoW UI has always been a dumpster fire and I honestly don’t think this latest iteration is an improvement. They need to get the interns off of this task and assign it to people that actually know what they’re doing and know how to design a UI.

For comparison, Star Wars The Old Republic launched over a decade ago with a full customizable UI that has never needed an update. Sure there are things I would like added but overall it just works.

WoW UI currently is not an improvement over the functionality I had with my addons a year ago.

Blizz been always releasing half-baked stuff, not the first day lol.

True. Not any inch better than any addon out there, even an outdated addon.

Addons will break the ability to save changes. Disable all your addons, move the talking head and save it, then reenable all your addons.

Or get another addon to move it. You can move it in Blizz’s new UI but you can’t resize it, which means I’m back to using an addon for that.
