Talent Tree Problem

Okay, so I tried an alternate build. I didn’t like it, so I wanted to go back to my original. When I select it in the drop-down-box, it starts to load, then gives me the following error: You must spend all available talent points…

Um… what? All my points ARE spent. But I can’t reinstate my old build? What’s going on?

Hmm…are you sure you saved the old build with all points spent?

Otherwise, I have found swapping specs to be a little buggy sometimes. Like, when you try to swap but something’s on cooldown, it will sometimes still swap your bars to the new spec’s settings without actually loading that set. Kinda annoying.

Now that may be! The question is, how do I reset it? I don’t remember exactly what I had chosen, so simply redoing it might prove problematic.

Not sure. Sorry.

You can always play around with the talent calculator on Wowhead and import that directly once you find something you want to try.

If worse comes to worst, I would create a new loadout with the same talents and delete the old one.

That’s the problem. The one I can’t switch to (or remember what it had in it) was the Starter Build. You know, something that should work by default? lol

Anyway, I put in a Bug Report post. So, we’ll see how it goes.

I think OP is saying they don’t remember their original talents.

As others mentioned the talent save/load thing is still buggy. To protect against loss, it’s best to export you loadouts and copy the resultant text strings to an external file (Notepad, Word, Excel, etc.).

If you switch to a spec with unused talent points, you will get an error and it will keep you in the spec you are currently in. But the talent page will show the talent spec you are trying to switch to, and show the unused points. Spend points, save at the bottom, then the button will change to “activate.”

If its a bug where you are sure your points are actually spent (and no swapped talents on cd), then copy the build import string and just create a new loadout and delete the old one. People say its buggy, but its not. You just have to make sure a few things are aligned before switching specs.

I did level while in the alternate build, so it’s probably missing a point. But no, the preview pane isn’t showing me the set I selected. It never leaves the current.

With enough work, I could probably figure my old build out. I was just wondering if there was a quick fix. I have a bug report out on it in the meantime.

Yeah, I get that now.

It’s cool that they give you a starter spec, now.
