I was taking the SW portal from Ashran but the loading screen froze and never ported me. The loading bar stayed empty and I had to use my Control Panel access to exit the wow game.
This is happening too often recently and I have no idea why. It started about a month ago and its annoying to take portals anywhere because there is no error message, nothing to indicate a problem with my pc or internet…its just the game loading screen not loading for completion of a port.
Happened just last week in the new area while trying to take a portal from Donogal to SW too, and now from Ashran to SW freezing as well.
No I am not, and those I am currently using were ones I’ve been using for some time. I’ve only recently noticed the portal issues after last month’s episode and that was right after one of Bliz’s “updates/patches” occurring.
That’s not really relevant. Not all addons receive updates with every patch or hotfix. They are created by third parties and Blizzard has no involvement in testing their usability.
I was answering the question. If my answer is not relevant, then I am assuming the issue is server side since I am not the only one in my guild experiencing these glitches.
Now the way you just stated in your comment about the addons not being relevant was not how it was worded in your other comment. The way I read your first comment was that it was something to do with my addons. Your second comment stated something differently.
As for you giving me this set of comments, and the tone of your comments are condescending and not exactly helpful. I am not a child to be talked to in this manner.
The second reply exists to clarify the original response and give you the next steps.
Clarifying something is not being condescending, you’re projecting something that isn’t there. But just to be clear, I don’t work for Blizzard or you; I’m a volunteer offering the basic troubleshooting step that Blizzard has recommended for over a decade when experiencing the issue you reported.
Whether you choose to participate in the troubleshooting is your choice and responsibility. Good luck.
I understand your position, however, it might have been a much better way to initiate your commentary with: If you have not yet done some preliminary troubleshooting steps like… then added your suggestions from that point by your offering those steps, it would have been a much better conversation.
The best initial commentary you could have opened with was the question, “have you already done the basic troubleshooting steps to see if there are other factors.” With that opening you would find out if I had indeed already accomplished that step or not. Which by the way I had already done with no negative results.
This method I am suggesting is something that prevents misunderstanding and if worded right, you eliminate the prospect of the recipient being offended by how you said something rather than what information you offerred.
Whoa, who asked? Again, I’m a volunteer. You’re getting free and individualized troubleshooting, which Blizzard doesn’t offer anymore. How I approach any troubleshooting thread is up to me, as long as the method follows the forum Code of Conduct (and it has). But instead of accepting free help, you want to debate semantics and offer unsolicited advice, which is weird, inappropriate, and unrelated to the purpose of this forum. Only Blizzard can dictate how players should interact in their public forum.
If my style isn’t for you, feel free to adopt the ignore function and wait for someone else who wants to interact with this thread.
