Taking a stand as a community against boosters and those who support it

From here on out, ignore those who’d taunt you with words and saying that the current iteration of the system is acceptable. Outlaw them and act as though they don’t exist. Continue to push for a better Wow

I think some sort of solo que has to be whatever the solution is ig from reading everything on people’s thoughts on boosting

Because even though I’m confident it’s less RMT than people think and instead stream content farming/gold farming (most PvPers have never had gold, a lot of them are going ham on T3/mog stuff etc), how is it ever supposed to get punished without you punishing someone innocent, and in return how can someone who should be punished not defend and say they’re innocent.

What I mean by innocent is let’s say I actually want to q with someone who is really my friend but they’re worse than me. In general I personally would still prolly just play an alt with them but even so, I could be better than them but I like playing with them. But it’s still a similar situation as if I boost someone with gold. So now I can’t enjoy a way to actually play with friends that aren’t as good as me w/o risking them being banned.

But on top of that, if gold boosting was bannable, you could also be like “well it’s just my friend”, and they could eliminate an ingame transaction by doing a cash one that’s discrete and how would that ever get tracked as long as they’re not advertising it (although at least it would be deterred far more if they had to avoid advertisements).

Idk, as it stands the only rational solitions are prolly just making gear scale up im PvP and/or implement solo q

Maybe even disable acc wide gladiator because psychologically ppl see way more glad mounts than they’re used to and can percieve a boost that’s not actually happening.

Having solo/flex q prolly fixes 99% of ur problems though for WoW although it might be complicated to implement, but just take away the opportunity to do it and it’s fine. Only way to get boosted in solo q games is acc sharing which is easily tracked in WoW.

Either way tho I care very little at this point I just think if it’s important enough that people want something changed with wow try to be rational instead of emotional. Being annoyed by gold boosting is absolutely fair, but obviously it isn’t against the ToS so wanting people banned currently is stupid. Wanting Blizzard to change their viewpoint on it for PvP however, is totally fair.

Be logical and rational if you want something changed instead of emotional and you probably have a better chance for improving the WoW of tomorrow.

Whilst I appreciate your thoughts and agree somewhat with you, the purpose of this post is to push for a change in boosting and if the forum moderators won’t do anything against blatant trolls then we will have to ourselves cough Rankoneboost cough.

My personal take on the situation is that, like you said, boosting can’t be completely outlawed due to a number of factors namely being friends in high places. Yet the heart of the problem being gear disparity, toxic 1 shot classes, toxic unkillable classes, etc continues to go ignored which started this whole mess in the first place. SoloQ will only fix this to a degree, there will still be the occasional mythic raider going up through PvP ladder. There should be more changes for class balance and system balance rather than settling for just SoloQ.

Boosting isn’t going to go anywhere though? You can silence me all you want but reality won’t change.

This man has a point.

Boosting has been a thing since the inception of arena and to think blizzard will change their stance on it now is absurd. Especially since they are now owned by Activision and more motivated by profit than previously.

If there’s money to be made somehow then they will not make a change to hurt their bottom line. Business 101.

No. What the community needs to start doing is stop caring so much about what’s going on in their video game.

I respect it and understand it should be something fun. The line starts to be crossed when we have people trying to witch-hunt boosters lol.

It’s been around forever, you’ve been dealing with it forever unknowingly, and you only notice it cause you can’t get a certain ilvl gear piece. It’s a game, relax lol.

When they buff pve drop rates prob in 2 patches to silence this none sense, you’ll still be getting slapped around blissfully.

Soloque will not be available until at the very least next expansion, which is still 2 years from now.

I’ve never seen this much posting about this topic in other games. It’s actually quite simple how to reduce “boosting”. Make pvp gear lower ilvl than raid gear next tier.

Done.

Horrible idea. Js.

This forum rarely has any constructive feedback, it’s mostly whiners and trolls.

Wow has always been toxic but the upcoming garbage is out of this world.

This is what you said in another thread less than 30 minutes ago:

It’s kinda ironic how you call out the forums for being whiny and toxic when you’re the main culprit of both of those things lmao

It’s literally why ppl are paying so much gold for boosts…

Same with M+ it’s all for the vault reward

I mean you could just lower the rating requirements so people wouldn’t have to buy boosts. :woman_shrugging: Ratings have been removed from gear from previous expansions.

Yeah sure, but it shouldn’t be equal to mythic raid gear then imo. The objective is to stop people from using boosts to gear.

Aka WoD system

Only works if it scales up. If it’s lower in general then we will have BFA issues all over again.

True, however I have a very hot take. I like resil lmao. But I don’t think blizzard would re-introduce it.

Versa is a good idea however some classes like versa in pve so it’s not as effective.

I liked resili too, and they wont introduce it as Blizzard wants to make it easier for PVERs to PVP.

However, I am a firm believer BIS gear for PVP should be found in PVP. This is where BFA messed up. The only issue now is the 227 BIS players farming lower brackets and calling it ‘skill’.

I don’t have a problem with boosting, the only actual problem is the ilvl scaling being way too high which makes boosting feel almost mandatory if you want to break out of the dumpster.

Exactly why boosting is a problem. Like i said the value of ilvl is too great, and it needs to be devalued.

Yikes KC NGL
