This is an awesome addition. One of the big obstacles to me when I’m playing any game where other people are reliant on my play is the initial learning factor. Being able to run something for the first time where nobody else has to feel the pain of my lack of mechanics knowledge is really, really helpful for getting the ball rolling.

But they cant do mechanics and affixes easily 100% of the time when the dungeon pool changes every season. Thats a LOT more work to tune each AI to work in each dungeon every 6 months.

Not every 6 months, if FFXIV is anything to go by, they take a lot of time to properly and 100% refine the AI to work in every dungeon so far. WoW with how much they are undertaking all at once, would take twice as long and the AI would mess up and die a lot because 6 month time crunch sucks.

I am glad you know all the ins and outs of the development process on it, but I don’t think it would take as long as you think.

In any case, it would be a big win for the game.

I could even see it as a plus for moving the game to XBOX now that MS has bought it out.

You’ve said you think there should be no rewards. You wouldn’t even play the game if you got no rewards. Trying to coerce players who don’t belong in hard content, who wouldn’t be happy being forced to play with players like you, who you would whine and moan about if they turned up in your content, makes no sense, because you can’t change human nature. You can’t make a player who isn’t by nature competitive into one who would get happy making their disabled grandmother cry by beating her and telling her she’s worthless because she lost at some videogame.

You can’t want to coerce people into obediently doing things they don’t find fun as “entertainment”, unless you’re a bully. How about an incentive for you to treat other players like people rather than pawns?

Didn’t Blizz have to bribe LFRers to do Normal by dangling the Slime Cat in front of them and going “lulz normal+ only!,” and even then many refused?

You know what happened to the LFRers who did normal raids in SL for Slime Cat? We went right back to LFRing.

You know what happened to the LFRers who didn’t do normal raids in SL for the Slime Cat mount? They didn’t buy Dragonflight, because Season 4 of Shadowlands had no content for casuals, and it was clear less content was going to be a trend. Look at Season 4 Dragonflight. Where’s the casual content?

Can someone explain why people are getting upset at the notion of people running with bots and getting Mythic 0 gear?

For this season, that’s 437 ilvl. You get much better ilvl by running open world weeklies or whatever to get Sparks (463 gear).

It’s blowing my mind that people literally are trying to gatekeep subpar gear
