Whoa, this is actually an awesome idea! Borrowing from Guild Wars 1 many years later, but a great borrow nonetheless.
Being able to go at your own pace and fully explore a dungeon has incredible benefits. I want to be able to experience the full dungeon, check every corridor, go through the boss mechanics as intended, complete quests (if dungeon quests are even a thing anymore lol), look for easter eggs (if there aren’t any now, this gives them an opportunity to slip them in for those that like that kind of stuff).
What they should do is expand it from like 10-70 (I think 10 is when dungeons start) then from 70-80 and add in the option for heroic and mythic 0, raid wise I probably wouldn’t use it personally but I’m not against it being a thing either so I’m totally supportive there as well.
As soon as I get to do a few I’ll report back on how many stupid things killed me as I learned. I’m guessing LOTS. . Its a really great feature for everyone – I get to klutz my way through and do the campaign quests, nobody ever has to suffer with me in their group! Win-win!
Both of you are correct, but you misunderstood my stance and misunderstood the landscape here.
These aren’t just Dragonflight dungeons. They are M+ dungeons. The older M+ dungeons have already been “revamped” to include code like this (evidenced by the fact that the recoded older dungeons fall in line with the current DF dungeons).
My question is, with all these older dungeons that have already been recoded, why are those not being included in a broader leveling package?
Keep in mind, they gave us an entirely new leveling area AND gave up Chromie time so we could level in the expansion of our choosing.
I’d like to think whatever “internal testing” they did before putting on the PTR wasn’t from the lens of “Dragonflight content” and was instead “Dungeon content that fits inside the current landscape”.
That’s where my question was: why was this not “all dungeons that have been through the Mythic Plus revamp?”
Because M+ has nothing to do with the leveling and base zone storyline dungeons?
It’s meant to learn and do quests while going through the MSQ. And once next expansion hits, it’ll be 10-70 instead of 60-70. After that, we’ll have to see where they go with it.
It’s not about getting free loot. It’s about being able to play the entirety of the game at the pace that I do choose. And if someone doesn’t like a raid, still being able to experience it.
I would be fine if the AI was stupid and wiped us a few times like real life with any quest rewards necessary for quest lines dropping and the appropriate tiers of gear. That still leaves mythic and all the tiers over that for the elitists.
