Just hit 30 on my Rogue and was surprised to discover that Shadowstep is on the GCD. We can’t step sap, step kick, etc. You step behind a Priest and they can easily see and fear / DoT you before you can press your next button. Completely eliminates the point of having step in the first place.
I can’t remember this ever being a thing. Feels real bad. It should not be on GCD.

You don’t even get a damage bonus on your next ability because why give rogues any runes that help them do damage?
It’s embarrassing shadowstepping someone and then just standing there while they react, just begging them to cc you.
Yeah it is pretty bad. The number of times I’ve used Shadowstep only to stand there and get hit with a Frost Nova or Psychic Scream is depressing.
Doesn’t break stealth like Quickstrike, adds movement speed, good late in a fight to recover on blinks and screams etc, useable while snared/rooted. Makes it easier for us not to be kited even though kiting isn’t the issue right now. Why are you using it as an opener while crowd control is a factor? use it to counter blink etc. So are we mad we can’t make one shot macros or what?

Stealth detection from behind is really bad, are you sure you arent accidentally running through them after stepping?
No, there’s no off gcd stuff in vanilla.
Makes sense that shadowstep is no exception, hell, even kick is on gcd.

really though i hate rogues and i think it should be off gcd.
its very limited use otherwise especially in pve where a shadow step to kick would be mega useful.
Rogues don’t need more pvp utility, and they definitely don’t need it off the gcd.
If you can’t 100-0 every class in the game as a rogue it’s a skill issue, please look up a guide on how to PvP before you cry on the forums and embarrass yourself as one of the strongest PvP classes by a mile begging for buffs.
i routinely kill rogues with ease on my shaman.
i dont know if they can really counter tank shaman all that well to be honest.
So… What you’re saying is, Blizzard should change the GCD but put mutilate back to it’s original energy cost?
