Take a break. :3

I’m not, nor do I mean in like the - “Take a break from WoW” kinda deal.

Just…take a break from a certain activity until you forget about it. Don’t level a new character for a month. Hone your skills in pvp, push mythics, gather and game the auction house - etc - and then…try leveling a character. Get a general idea for how you want it to go, where you want to be - and…just…go off.

I’ve had this druid I’ve left at lvl 30 for ages. She was level 60 or something before the squish and I just never…pushed her up. I’d leveled up 6 characters before her that week and I was tired and I just left her for like…a year. I haven’t run anyone through the whole process since for about… - I mean goodness, since Shadowlands came out.

So, that happened, and last night I decided to log in on her. Get her through BFA and SL so I could be ready for DF.

I picked Drustvar as my first zone. I like the atmosphere - and at first I was just gonna blow through the main quest and dip but I…didn’t.
I don’t know what was different. I can’t really explain it.

But it felt like I was meeting all the characters for the first time again. Lucille, the inquisitors, Marshall Everitt Reed - and I felt…invested. I went out into the zone looking for other quests to do besides the main one because I just…felt like it, even after I hit 50.

And then I did the Maw quests?! And…they’re not half bad? I mean gods I still got goosebumps seeing that last cinematic with Anduin before you’re sent to Oribos.

I dunno.
There’s a reason I love the game - and I think there’s a reason you all do too.
Take a break from something when it gets tedious. Go…explore something else. I think you’ll find the magic never fades. :3

I took a year break and when I came back I discovered Shadowlands was still trash.

Ain’t what I’m talkin’ about. :3

maybe I’m just unlucky or not paying attention but I keep getting sent to BFA to do the questing zone there upon new characters… which is pretty annoying, I’ve played a lot of that content would love to go back and level through cata or something else… did you get any other options for xpacs to chooce from or was BFA forced on you too?

That’s the default for new players - Blizz is trying to streamline the story a bit and make it less…daunting.

If you’ve got a new character, and you get them past exiles reach/your culture’s starting zone, you wanna go to chromie in stormwind. She’s sitting on an hourglass by the embassy - she can start you on whichever path you wanna go on to level through. :3

I’ve also found you can kinda…force it. Like just…abandon that quest to head to BFA and just…stick with whatever zones you’re used to running. :3

honestly, thank you so much… you just saved me from leveling the next 3 toon’s down the same frustrating path I’ve had to deal with for the last 4. XD

OH! YAY!

Oh my goodness go have fun out there. :3 The way I’ve been keeping it fresh is making sure I head to a new expac and a new couple zones each time I make a new one.

that’s a really good idea! I’m looking forward to leveling a monk after all these years never playing one? not sure what I’m going to level as they all look pretty OP, plus getting the heritage armor achievements unlocked is something fun to work towards aswell.

Instructions unclear, replaying Witcher 3 until WotLK comes out.

That is…also an option.
I wish you the best.
