Taelia's last name is so obvious now! *Joke/Wrathion Thread, Spoilers*

Taelia’s last name is Fordragon because she was introduced to be a surrogate for a dragon.

She’ll be a surrogate for Anduin and Wrathion, a dragon. Kidding. Sort of. :stuck_out_tongue: We all know they’re endgame. chirp Anyway…

On a serious note, why was Wrathion so up close and center for Mists, but then… disappeared for 3 expansions now?

In Legion Beta, you even retroactively wrote an entire story for him that transplanted him as the entire cause of WoD. He was the one that inspired the Bronze Dragon to free Garrosh and helped with it. However, he underestimated Garrosh’s ego. He knew he’d form the Iron Horde, but he thought he’d UNITE the Iron Horde with Azeroth against the incoming Burning Legion, and instead he caused casualties.

As such, he felt guilty for his involvement and left. The next part is the part that got retconned out of existence, and I agree with it being retconned out. - Originally, Ebonhorn WAS Wrathion - He had gone to Highmountain to atone for what he did, and and helped the Highmountain like Ebonhorn did on live. At the end of the quest, he had gathered Black Dragon Eggs in Highmountain that had been lost in time, intent on raising a new clutch of uncorrupted black dragons. However, as it didn’t make sense that Mayla would have such a trust in him after such a short amount of time, they scrapped this. However, this led to pretty much zero Wrathion involvement in Legion.

Flashforward to pre-BFA - When Highmountain joined the Horde, they gained Ebonhorn, a Black Dragon, ally. To counter this, Blizzard apparently decided that Wrathion, a Black Dragon, should join the Alliance, as in Mists, at the end of the Legendary Cloak quest, it was pretty obvious he sided with the Alliance from the start from the dialogue at the end of the quest.

As such, he was in the Stormwind Embassy at the BFA BlizzCon Demo (removed before the 7.3.5 patch hit the PTR). When you asked where he’d been the entire time, he simply replied with something along the lines of “I’ve been having lunch with my favorite human king.”

And as such, we’ve now not seen Wrathion since then. We do know he’s currently looking for the Dragon Isles due to the Island Expedition Quests, and from the recent Q&A, we were told the Expedition Quests are meant to be breadcrumb hints as to future patches and possible Expansions, but we were also told Wrathion is not likely to show up in BFA.

So, I ask - what was the point of introducing Wrathion as this prominent lore figure if you only use him for 1 expansion that you use to build up awkward chemistry with the prince of Stormwind in, (that Christie Golden insults your customers whenever they bring it up, I might add), have him be this master manipulator of events, then don’t use him for 3 expansions after it? Especially in an expansion like BFA, which is literally all about manipulating events?

Not really sure who wraithian is. Not a huge lore person I just hope to see taelia and anduin get together.
