I have tried to get the breadcrumb quest “Tabetha’s Task” from both the Troll and Undead quest givers, but for some reason it is bugged and I am unable to get the quest. I have verified that I can see Tabetha gives the quest “Tiara of the Deep”. I have not done “Tiara of the Deep” so I am not sure why I am unable to pickup “Tabetha’s Task”.
Breadcrumb quests are only there to point you to questgivers. If you’ve already found them, they go away.

I know what a breadcrumb quest is and how they work. You input was unhelpful and not entirely accurate. Breadcrumb quests only go away if you accept and complete their follow-on quest.
breadcrumbs can go away for various reasons.
…including outleveling the quest.

The toon experiencing this issue was mid-forties. Again, another unhelpful answer for a WoW Classic bug.
