Tabards are Dumb

They don’t look cool ever. They act counter to cool transmog by being so limited in appearances and covering up basically all of the chest piece you wear. Can we have something else to fulfills the role of group identity that is not chest centric please. Perhaps a guild flag you can carry around? Or even a tattoo on the arm or an arm band on one side. Just anything that adds onto your character’s coolness not covers up your chest?

A tabard is a key part of my void elf and vulperas transmog.

Admittedly theyre the only ones that ever use them though.

I like tabards! That being said, I do like your ideas with the tattoos and flags. Why not both?

They cover up my gnome diaper…so tabards are great!

Also, some chest pieces show on top of the tabard (like the one I’m currently wearing), so it looks nice. I think the tabard improves my current mog.

Arm tattoo might be covered by chest piece, or shirt.
Arm band may be obscured by chest piece or gloves.

What else ya got?

I do like that look! I stand corrected in some rare situations.

I use one to mimic a skirt. Otherwise it’s a choice between long matron dresses, or running around in underwear.

you can hide your tabard or just not wear one…they aren’t mandatory

I live for the tabard.

I see tabards as accent pieces, like wearing a nice tie with a suit.

I will say though, I think tabards look best with pants as opposed to dress/robe/kilt.

You skipped over flags. But other ideas could including making the guild symbol a simple transparent overlay on your chest or on your back piece, so you get the lame anvil symbol on top of whatever you’re got equipped.

Which brings me to another point, why such lame assortment of guild symbols?

tabards are one of my favorite parts of transmog.

but okay? whatever op.

You can work it into your look. Some tabards work better for that purpose than others – the Argent Dawn tabard, with its clean, minimalist black and white, goes with just about everything. Argent Crusade works pretty well, too, and the Shattered Sun tabard isn’t bad.

I’m going in a different direction lately, and will likely do so for a while to come, but I may go back to a tabard-based look.

Because humans are inherently dumb and feel the need to arbitrarily pick and choose sides when there doesn’t need to be. Example? Dragonriding and normal flying, people argued with each other in the forums to get rid of the other for their favorite style of flight, when they could just…have both.

I’d like if they added the option to toggle the “flap”.

I only use them when I want to emulate a shorter dress than ground length. It’s nice for toons in my personal guild because I can just change the colors. But at that point I’m using as the chest so there’s nothing noteworthy it’s covering.

I like tabards if I can find a nice mix of items to wear with them. I’m usually rocking one because they look good on me.

Tell me you don’t have a Blood Elf Paladin without tellin me you don’t have a Blood Elf Paladin.
