I have always used tab targeting, but yesterday it just quit. I thought it was my keyboard and switched that. Nope. It doesn’t work. Now I’m seeing its an old issue with Blizzard. Will there be any fix to this? After 20 years I’m sort of set on this.
So I’m not losing my mind! There is something messed up with it!
I feel like half the time I tab target, nothing happens. And then sometimes, I suddenly just don’t have a target at all after I tab target, get the target, then it just… drops.
It works for me in the sense that targets change. However, since DF I’ve noticed it doesn’t select the closest target and seems fairly random regarding which target it chooses. Not ideal but still better than trying to click target when things get heated.
I’m using that trinket right now. The concept seems cool, but the targeting rarely works and most of the time the barrels either show up too late to be useful, or they are not near enough to mobs by the time you see them to be of use.
I feel you on this one. I know for a fact it’s dropping targets randomly. Multiple times now I’ve had a target lined up, go to fire off a spell and get a “you have no target” message.
The targeting when it does work is just wonky as hell too. I can have a group of 3 mobs in front of me and actively in combat with me, but the tab target will pick Background Mook #17 off in the distance.
Standing back as ranged it is impossible to manually pick the target you want in a pack of mobs. A good tab target algorithm is kind of essential.
I’m tired of hitting tab and having it jump behind me. Worse, rather than target the pack close to me where I just killed something, jump to the next pack full of identical mobs behind it. I can’t tell it happened until I pull that whole pack.
