Let’s talk about this tab target system that blizzard seems to think works. So I do not know if you all have played a game with this came system in it before but if you look at game-like ESO and GW2 ESO you move the camera with the Mouse and you don’t have to worry about the tab target you point in the direction of the target you want to kill leaving you one but less to hit it would also make the key bin just a little bit easier on a player. In GW2 you have the choice tab target or Action cam Now I play a lot of games in my day and the ones that I like to best are the ones with the Action camera. been playing wow for well 10 + years and never liked the tab target system If they would make it available for those who like that type of gameplay then I do believe more players would get into this game.

I wonder how it would work with a spec that’s all AoE, no targeting whatsoever. I don’t think I would enjoy that spec because it seems like it would be very positional and out-of-place in ST fights, but perhaps others may enjoy it, which would be nice.
There’s nothing wrong with tab targeting. It works.
Plus you can simply use a macro to auto target the nearest enemy, which would accomplish the same thing as “action” style of targeting I think you are referring to, where action games will auto target the next nearest enemy after you killed your current target.
Tab target is only system that would work in mmorpg that you’re supposed to play for years.
Action is tiresome and you will hate it in a month.
I play wow and it’s kind specifically because of tab target. No “action” mmo has been able to stray away from it and have it’s combat have any sort of depth that you wouldn’t get from an actualy rpg without the bottlenecks of mmo designs

They can’t even get tab target working properly, what makes you think they could properly program an action cam targeting system?
Works fine for me, I look at the mob I want to attack (face my character at it) hit tab and it targets it and I stun, kick, blind or w/e I need to do to it
I do find that there could be a smarter version of tab targeting. Like why doesn’t the game tab target units that are in combat with your party/raid first? Sometimes you tab target and get mobs in another room and it makes it kind of useless. I’ve had to learn to use mouse sometimes in keys or things like that cos tab targeting can get scary sometimes.
Pretty jerk-ish of you to call it outdated when they’re still working on getting it to function properly… please don’t rush them, we might be close.

I’d like when I tab target it targets something my hunter’s pet is attacking and not a yellow mob that neither I nor my pet has aggroed.
Character aiming to a specific target doesn’t work in a game where you can have a dozen enemies stacked on eachother but need to focus a single one down, interrupt another, cc a different one, and quickly swapping.
Tab targeting isn’t outdated for an mmo, as it allows us to be far more versatile in how our combat works.
I just wish it didnt target stuff out of combat, like those stupid jars in Torghast
