Making users display Btags is a bid for control of the forums.
Doesn’t matter about the intent, players already treat one another like garbage over mere group rolls for loot, what do you think they’ll try doing when they can identify any user across any toon?
Serious for a second, it’s likely confirmation bias, but human male paladins wearing arathi or stormwind mogs tend to be the most vocal against lgbtq topics.
The reason I say don’t post Opinions (and that goes for everyone) is those threads go off the rails fast, so anything that isn’t extremely tame has a higher likelihood of being reported whether it was for or against.
As someone who gets 3 days like they are candy they normally do tell you the post they moderate. I don’t always agree but it happens. Especially when there is a group who loves to report if I do anything wrong in their eyes. Im looking at you mass report discord you know who you are.
Harassment, denial of loot, denial of access to groups a deniers arsenal is almost endless when you tear away all aspects of being anonymous.
I’d disagree given the history of forum change suggestions, some posters on here just take what’s being said here too seriously which why things like RealID fell through.
Easier to do right now. You can find anyone’s alts. A person can be harassed here, ignore the character, then that harasser swaps to an alt and continues the harassment because the alt isn’t ignored.
The account is ignored in game, it should be here, too.
No one on the forums can deny you loot. Nonsensical reply.
No one on the forums can deny you access to groups in game. Nonsensical reply.
Btags have zero information attached to them.
No one should be allowed to swap to an alt on this forum to harass anyone or circumvent ignores.
All you’re doing is promoting harassment, toxicity and trolling, while spreading misinformation about Btags.
As usual.
And I’m done responding to anyone who promotes as such. Good day.
Ok, cool. If you know you didn’t break the Forum Code of Conduct, then you know you have nothing to worry about if someone flags your post.
However, the behaviour of your post in the other thread is enough to justify on why the community feels it does breach the Forum Code of Conduct? But the final decision will always be the moderation to determind if the post does breach the Forum Code of Conduct, and depending on the severity, if isn’t as bad as you may think, it could just lead to the post being removed to being suspended for more severe cases.
But a flag is just a flag. When a post gets hidden, it doesn’t stop your ability from posting, it doesn’t stop you’re ability from participating in threads, that decision will always be left up to the moderation.
I just wish Blizzard would work with discorse more often to look at a way where we can have our BattleTag displayed underneath our character, while still giving us the option to post from our characters. Even if they just hide the name or replace the last 2 numbers with X’s. Having a way to be under one identity would work a lot of wonders for the forums.
Good luck getting an answer to that question. I can’t even get an answer to how BattleTags would lead to an increase of harassment on the forums or stalking.
