As a casual player, I like to try and complete the Quests and Exploration achievement categories because they are always fun and attainable, and they do seem aimed at extending the casual gameplay experience.
In patch 9.2 the following achievement chain was added to the Exploration achievement category: Synthesized! → Synthe-fived! → Synthe-superfived! → Synthe-supersized! with the last step of the chain requiring the crafting of 50 different protoforms. There are 52 distinct protoforms in the game, 3 of which require a reagent that drops only from the Normal+ Selpucher raid, and which requires the raid group coordinating in a very specific way in order to unlock it. This, for someone who does only LFR raids for the story, is simply daunting. Many more protoforms also require farming very low drop chance items or looting slow spawning chests (glimmer of cunning) or even crafting and eating large quantities of feast foods (glimmer of sastisfaction) which essentially involves many, many gameplay sessions with zero sense of progression. Again, for a casual player, this is close to unacceptable.
I understand that mount farming has always been grindy and that many players are willing to go through it for the prestige of possessing those rare mounts, but it seems excessive to have such a high requirement for an Exploration achievement. As a casual player, this is completely discouraging and it makes me not want to bother with those achievements anymore, just do the story content, and unsuscribe until the next patch.
I believe that, in order to be attainable and in tune with other Exploration achievements, the number of different protoforms required for the Synthe-supersized! achievement should be lowered to a maximum of 40.
