i’m trying to do the sigil of strom and the related arathi highlands questlines in stromgard city ruins but all i see there are allied forsaken npcs. is there some npc i have to talk to in order to change it back? same thing with the ogres they aren’t there either.
Look at the bottom of the map, there should be a quote symbol. Go to the NPC and have her change the time line.
is it behind the castle ruins? to the south?
Zidormi is at the bottom of the zone near the Thandol Span connecting Arathi to The Wetlands, she’s the one you want to talk to. IIRC there should be a little speech bubble symbol on the map at her location.
ok i found zidormi but she doesnt offer the speech dialogue to change versions of arathi highlands. is she bugged?
Interesting. I went there on a 50 Horde character & was able to get Zidormi to switch the zone back & forth, but on a 48 Horde character I could not. The L48 character is still in Chromie Time, maybe that has something to do with it. Are you trying to do this on a toon that’s playing through BfA? That might lock you into the BfA version of the zone; on my 48 toon I am locked into the old version (I chose the Cata Chromie Time option).
OTOH, if you’re in the BfA version of the zone I don’t think you can even pick up the “Sigil of Strom” questline.
Characters below level 50 should just be in the old pre-BfA phase automatically. (The updated Arathi was used for BfA endgame stuff.)
If your character is 50+ it may be possible that you’re “stuck” in an in-between phase. (Where you’re eligible to unlock the Warfront version of the zone, but have not yet unlocked it.) I’ve seen similar things happen in other zones. If that’s the case, you’ll need to do intro quests for the Arathi Warfront from BfA to unlock the level 50 zone, which should also unlock the ability to flip it back with Zidormi.
i have my character level capped at 50 with the initial shadowlands ‘go talk to your npc to find out the fate of your leader’ still active. could that be it?
The Shadowlands quest shouldn’t be affecting it. It will be BfA stuff that is the problem. Just being at 50 may have been enough to trigger the phase issues even if you’ve never started any of the BfA stuff.
So, if you haven’t done any BfA stuff, you’ll need to start on that. The main criteria for getting the quests for the Arathi Warfront are unlocking BfA World quests. If you’ve done it before on a character, then it will basically just require you to do the BfA intro, pick up your Heart of Azeroth, and turn in Uniting Kul Tiras/Uniting Zandalar. Otherwise, you’ll have to do enough questing in each of the BfA zones to get to friendly and do the 3 Foothold quests for the War Campaign.
After that you can pick up “To the Front” (H/A) to do the initial Arathi Warfront quests.
