Why can Sylvanas dissolve her (undead, corporeal form) into a purple mist and effectively teleport anywhere nearby? If she was leaving her body temporarily, I would understand it, but she didn’t. She transformed her body into a cloud, then reconstituted again. This sounds more like a Shadow priest ability then a banshee ability. So is Sylvanas a Shadow Priest now or is there something I’m missing?
People aren’t restricted to a few abilities in the lore like in the game

You mean the BfA cinematic. I don’t recall her being front and center in the Legion one with the banshee form.
NPCs don’t have to follow conventional class structure. Shadow magic’s shadow magic, a Shadow Priest and a Warlock can probably both raise the dead if they really wanted to but they’re not Necromancers until they make the conscious decision to do it. Whatever Sylvanas is seems to be above a simple Banshee, just like Arthas was more than a simple Death Knight.

They don’t have to, but they don’t randomly give Jaina Shaman abilities or Saurfang monk abilities. It just seems to me that Sylvanas is being a little overly favored here.
We’re gonna need to take a vacuum cleaner with us when we finally take her down.

A firey chain or whip, from what I saw from the trailer, I’m getting Castlevania: Symphony of the Night vibes. All Sylvanas needs to do now is transform into a bat and wolf…

Aren’t we all technically undead. Let’s say you never died questing and never died in pvp; if you did the Argus raid then we’ve all died.
So, in many ways Azeroth IS a prison of unending death and we are nothing as Sylvanas says.
Still trying to figure out the “freeing” us unless she’s planning some Tron Movie corporealization or actually something more sinister.
I forsee her out to reverse the curse of flesh, deny her death, assume godhood. She has played all kinds of deities, loas, warchiefs, and others for selfish gains.
Besides, if all these “assimilated” beings that came after the curse are imperfect then what hope is there for transcendence. We as players/heroes, none of us can reach perfection. This narrative is no different than the Inarius and Lilith one spawning mortal races.
An open ended inconclusive conglomerate pastiche of art and lore to keep us hooked with no answers. I realize this more now than ever playing any MMO.
If I am correct, when Sylvanas opened shadowlands, I thought I saw an inverted Icecrown Citadel…
Sylvanas has been working for The Jailer since Wrath of the Lich King. AS stated by Blizzard developers during Blizzcon.
The primary lore characters aren’t bound by playable classes or abilities. They will be able to do whatever is needed for Blizzard to push the story forward. This is why Anduin wields a sword as a priest. It is why Tyrande uses a bow as a priest. It is why Sylvanus can leave corporeal form as ranger.

You realize:
1.) Banshees are ghosts, which are typically incorporeal.
2.) Banshee isnt a defined class with set abilities.
3.) Lore characters dont follow in game class requirements. I mean nobody talks about anduin conjuring a thunder storm before mass healing, but sylvanas uses her banshee form and everyone loses their mind.
