Sylvanas Windrunner

If Sylvanas was controlled by some old god magic, and after we fight her ( if we do ) and we find out that we freed her from that magic, would all that hate go away? even if we find out she was controlled since we will defeat her
can blizz actually make the end cinematic work with a questline so we cure her and she go back to the old verzion of her self?

I doubt it’d help that much as far as player perception or in lore. I bet that most players that are tired of her now would still be tired of her. As far as lore goes, it wouldn’t unburn Teldrassil or bring back any of those that died in the war. Plus, don’t forget that her old version wasn’t exactly one of the good guys.

I think.. it would be more interesting to think about her / all undead / scourge. She was res’d by the LK, and uses the same power to create the undead. If the SL is where that magic comes from.. what will happen to them once we go and blow it up / sever the “jail”.

lol hell no, i want that b*tch head on my table, no old god tentacle/influence will keep me from gettin her blood

Nope… they already burned that bridge with how they have written her story.

If they cop out now and give her some form of ‘redemption’, be it from her making a sacrifice or being ‘controlled’, it would be a worse letdown than the whole line about how the Night Elves got revenge for the destruction of Teldrassil because they killed a Val’kyr.

Redemption is pretty much impossible for her. At least at this moment. The thing is, I do love redemption arcs, but Sylvanas is so unbelievably overused by now that a redemption arc, even if done well, would make me tear my hair out.

Well, she did take the knife from Azshara without trying to stop us from using it so I doubt she’s being Old god mind controlled, especially considering N’zoth was dead when we see her tear open a hole into the shadowlands.

everything sylvanas is down is far less evil than the orcish horde the night elves specifically malfurion causing the sundering azshara summoning the legion illidan destroying entire planets sylvanas is by far one of the least evil leaders on wow specially among the elves.

Nah, even with a hamfisted “redemption” plot, she will forever leave a bad taste in my mouth. Like a piece of jerky lodged in an old library book. Or eating a mummy.

No thanks.

Garry was literally orc Hitler and even he knew Sylvanas was bad news with her plague usage.

No she’s not, she always hated the alliance AND horde and in classic she had a line where she said both factions would die.

I didn’t say sylvanas wasn’t evil im saying shes one of the least evil among elven leaders. lets be honest the leaders on Warcraft are evil as heck all of them mass murderers by irl standards. if we judged the leaders and heck us the players by irl standards wed all be considered terrorists and masss murderers

I mean you do have a point there. We did help an Old God because he gave us a few shinies.

No, if anything hate would rise because it would be an obvious as-pull to save the writer’s waifu. It’d be even more stupid than Kerrigan in SC2.

What old version? she’s always been this crazy psycho.

and we the players are the ones who commited the crimes and acts the leaders gave the orders infact us horde players willingly knowingly did evil things. some of us gladly now you think about tyrande she doesn’t just *want to sylvanas to die but every horde member who did the acts with and for her. and more of her story is gonna be shown in shadowlands.

Saurfang is still dead, Teldrassil still ash, and Lordaeron still bombed. Sylvanas is also the most plot armor character in WoW, and after a while her story is just “Winwinwin don’t die avoid deaths somehow don’t die win win”. Her story is bland according to most and people hate her for what she did in BfA.

the alliance abandoning and betraying the citizens of lordaeron to the scourge is unforgiveable and to refuse the forsaken to reunite after they gained free will and started hunting them down to extinction the forsaken are humans we just died and came back we are forsaken by those who called us friends and we will never forgive the alliance we will never accept your betrayal.

didn’t your own Queen just abandon you too? and didn’t she kill Forsaken that tried to reunite with their living families?
