Nah, it’s more like George RR Martin took over writing her character, and like most female characters of his recently who gain ultimate power, she went crazy then committed genocide/mass murder.

She was written into a corner and the likely way out is a surprise twist that most everyone will hate.

I think it’s because Bolvar is chained to the Helm, not the Jailer. The Jailer uses the helm for dominance over him.

I mean… if you thought she was going to stay and fight till her death, what’s her motivation for that? She’s been all about not dying since the end of Wrath. So anything to live is kinda her thing.
