Since Alleria cannot fight Xal’atath without being beaten, how would have Shadowlands Sylvanas fared (with Jailer empowerment).
Honestly, both’s interaction and fights would have been priceless.

Yeah we’re going to need a real ranger general and not this newb that is apparently using a bow for the first time.
I’m looking forward to Alleria finally scratching Xal with an arrow and it being seen as some big moment for her.
The Forsaken and Nerubians watching that fight would be like:
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) /╲/\╭( ͡°͡° ͜ʖ ͡°͡°)╮/\╱\ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) /╲/\╭( ͡°͡° ͜ʖ ͡°͡°)╮/\╱\
If we never have sylvanas content again, it’ll be too soon
I think y’all have a weird kink for elf corpses.
At least they’d have a fight to watch. Alleria just misses a lot and then gets punked.
She is the character that will fail upwards into a position of being a threat to Xal though. Right alongside Anduin.
For all of Slyvanas’ faults, she was sick with them hands. Undeath clearly worked wonders for her martial skill.
Xal is a master at bobbing and weaving; but so far, that’s all I’ve seen her do. It’s not at all a stretch to think she could go hard, but we have no points of reference to go off of.
Not enough data available.
She no sold Atiesh’s blast, she seems to be really tanky.
Yeah, but Dadgar is frail and weak at this point (dismiss the bad writing of that, as it’s not the point). What if Jaina shot it at her? I bet Xal wouldn’t have tried to tank that one.
And she makes a concerted effort to dodge Alleria’s arrows. She’s mad cocky, but clearly she has limits as to what she will allow her meat suit to endure.
Jailer roided Slyvanas tore a hole in the space-time continuum. I don’t think Xal is trying to tank them kind’a hits.
At least Sylvanas would be smart enough to not go after someone until you know how to beat them. Like the poison that would have killed Arthus if she hadnt monologed. The Blight that severely weakened Arthus and killed both living and dead.
Shadow and Void magic are on the same side of the Cosmological tree so theres no real weakness to each other. The void did seem afraid of death magic when the 3 sisters were in the woods, but not sure if that was the death magic in general or her connection to the Jailer. This was before the world tree got burned so we dont know how much of a power boost she got. She did force open a hole in wisp shield the Nelfs put up and that seemed to take a lot out of her so id say pre powerup and it was just the void seeing the multiple futures
Sylvanas wouldnt have the plot induced stupidity of shoot first think never that has cursed Alleria all expac.
She also wouldnt being using not only void infused arrows but pure void arrows. There is no quiver on alleria shes using the power of the void to make her own arrows like she was told she could in 1000 years war. So shes using pure void against a creature thats pure void… so smart
Over all the fight would be better and we wouldnt have went to Dalaran without some way to bring our soldiers to us at a moments notice sortta like WoD when we had the goblins on stand by to build our garrison. So the horde wouldnt have sat out 90% of the campaign. Also Sylvanas and cry baby king have better Chemistry when together she could get him over his mopiness before we met the 1 arm lady
Edit after checking they arent in the same part of the pie chart anymore they are equals but does bring up the question again why was the void so afraid her was it seeing the future or their weakness
isnt death magic more powerful than void magic in the strong to weak charts?
Right, just like every other hero / villain confrontation going back to Vanilla or earlier.
Not really.
There’s no stronger or weaker magic.
The strongest enemy is always the one we are fighting right now.
This or that type of magic can be better or worse for this or that thing, like for instance, Life Magic is probably better at creating new living beings than other types of Magic, but ultimately it all comes down to the users and how they use it.
to be fair sylvanas was being pumped full of that cosmic level death magic as were us the players when we fought her and even the jailer. and xal’atath does have that medallion to make her stronger she never really engages in a fight she knows she will lose plus the void tends to mind f people for an advantage just loook at every time aleria encounters xal.
Just check i screwed that up. Its not really weakness as it is opposing at least in the way the charts work now so they are equals in the way light and void are so its really the amount of the magic you can bring to the fight
Xal would probably obliterate Sylvanas. Sylvie was going to lose to Night Warrior Tyrande until the plot armor kicked in.
Sylvanas was an avatar of the Jailer’s power, and Tyrande was an avatar of Elune.
Xal’atath isn’t an avatar at all: she’s the real deal and she’s just getting started.
Both Xal’atath and Sylvanas prefer to ambush so I can’t really see that in my mind.
We don’t know how real a deal she is though. We don’t know how high up the Old God food chain she was; though obviously she had to’ve been pretty high up. But data suggests that while she might be close, she isn’t the upper echelon
She was a butter knife the majority of our interactions with her, before a bonified Old God let her go.
Slv and Tyrande were on confirmed God roids.
We’ve seen Black Empire big wigs get bodied by comparatively lesser beings than a roided out Slyvanas.
I don’t think it’s that simple. I think there isn’t this huge gulf between their power levels.
A butter knife, but a butter knife with a highly impressive pedigree.
She’s a ba machiavellian schemer, no doubt. Inarguably among the best we’ve seen. But so is the Joker. Yet the moment he takes a swing, Batman pushes his stuffing in.
I need to see them hands move, before I immediately give her the hypothetical W.
