Sylvanas Sabotage

It’s hard to say really, but the over saturation of Occult themes in western media makes me think it’s more widespread than we believe.

Mormon and LDS populations in the states and Canada is huge.

I subscribe to the pagan theory of creation. It’s beautiful if I do say so myself

“Did humans evolve from ape-like beings over many thousands of years, or did they spring from the tears shed by the Eye of Ra? Why is the American school system afraid of talking about the role of Ancient Egyptian Gods in how the world works? I say, teach the controversy!”

What’s the Pagan theory of creation? I like the shared myth about the Cosmic Egg, not that I actually think that the world was formed out of an egg, I actually like the scientific theory of microbial pansp(e)rmia.

Ridley Scott movies have been really deep into mutliple facets of occult mythology and I enjoy everything he makes, has anyone seen his Alien movie Prometheus? that was a good movie trying to cross pansp(e)rmia with the enochian bible. The Alien franchise is great but Prometheus was something special.

American Gods is really great fiction by Neil Gaiman, I really love occult fiction.

Once upon a time, there was no time and that was when there also was no gods and no man walked the surface of the land. But there was the sea, and where the sea met the land, a mare was born, white and made of sea-foam. And her name was Eiocha.

Creation continues on. From an oak tree that grew in the land there sprouted a plant. This is where Eiocha gave birth to the first god Cernunnos. Cernunnos mated with Eioch and begot more gods; however, the gods felt lonely because they did not have anyone to command or to worship them, so from the wood of the oak tree they created the first man and woman, as well as other animals. Giants, too, are born from the bark of a tree that Eiocha hurled into the water.

(It’s the only part of a Celtic Myth that’s been preserved and no one is really sure how old it is. But I love the idea and like to think it’s true)

Yes!! this actually is similar to the ancient Babylonian myth of Tiamat and Apsu. There was a scientific need to explain why fresh water and salt water do not mix, ancient seafarers believed that where the two oceans met there were two sea serpents from which all life was brought forth.

I love comparative mythology.

So do I. It’s amazing how similiar most beliefs systems are when you start looking at the stories and such.

Speaking of Gods though, Cernunnos is defiantly my patron God. He’s the god of nature and animals and I always had a thing for nature and with animals

Pangaea was long gone when homosapiens started roaming the earth.
Your timeline is off by a couple hundred million years.

I was referring to the writing itself. Though I didn’t know those things about Golden’s personal life, so you have a point. I do hope she can salvage from the dumpster fire Sylvanas’ story has become (while I still dislike Sylvanas, given the circumstances perhaps I was too hard on her story).

I was a fan of Prometheus as well.

I do too, and every new mythology I discover sucks me right in.

But in real life, I have pretty completely lost my religion. It’s not that I reject that there is a spiritual world, just that anyone has ever intelligibly written anything factual about it.

I think the spiritual has only ever been interpreted “correctly” by the “insane”, and that we need those “shamans”. There is no substitute. I think we crave it, so when an artist is completely cracked, we are immediately drawn to them. But thats probably crazy too.

So this is a thing in Warcraft discussions, now.

We need temple garment transmogs, if we are to discuss this.

That belief seems to depend on the person as much as whatever their religion is. By the way, regarding BattleTags, I’d prefer to just discuss things here.

I respect your choice. Sadly the mods frown on these kinds of discussions because they are not relevant to the game. If I don’t respond to you here, please don’t take it personally. My offer is always open if you change you mind in the future.

Random thought, but this seems like the best place to put it rather than starting a new thread: I think we dodged a bullet with regard to Sylvanas when they decided not to record new voice work for WC3 Reforged. It seems that was in development at the same time as Afrasiabi pushing for Sylvanas villainy and retconning previous events to make her look worse. Also, it was after Forsaken society was rewritten in Before the Storm.

I think there would have been substantial changes to reflect this new view they were pushing behind the scenes, and it might very well have resulted in retconning all the things that attracted (some) fans to Sylvanas and the Forsaken in the first place.

It’s garbage already. Might as well have given more to have more to talk about.
